Hi, Your comments are always most welcome

Gravatar Hi Vic and Sue,
We've been following your blog, and one day... soon... maybe...we'll be able to get over to the Fens, it looks wonderful over there. In answer to your question about the "U" bend in the middle, its there to allow for expansion. If the pipe were straight it would buckle in hot weather, and stretch in cold. This would lead to a fracture and the need for replacement.
Keep up the good work,
All the best,
K

Gravatar btw, It's a high-pressure gas pipe.

Gravatar Dear Sue, Vic and Kiera,

Great Blog. Kiera you are sure growing up quickly. I remember the pictures of you a few years ago and you were much smaller then. Great work with closing the lock, and yes they can be heavy.

It's funny you would mention your winter plans. While I was packing dolls yesterday I was wondering about your plans for this winter. And I certainly remember the muddy tow path during the winter you spent of the Ashby so I can relate to your comment about dry tow paths. Hope you get everything worked out. When will you be returning to the canals?

Best wishes and enjoy the Bank Holiday,

Mark

Gravatar Maybe we won't see you at Norbury Junction this winter after all then, Sue!
I was a bit disappointed in the programme for the Shropshire Union beacuse Wheaton Aston lock having been done last year I thought that everything would be clear at least south of Audlem. Mind you, for Starcross its relatively good news beacuse we'll still have the stretch between High Onn and Adderley available which is fine for weekend boating.
Jim
ps please note the new blog address

Gravatar Hi Sue and Vic

We are still following with great interest. We are now at Trevor and the stoppages will affect us also. Hull blacking at Shanley at the end of October and then heading down Trent and Mersey towards Rugby. Stoppage at Atherstone flight will slow us down so may see you in the area somewhere. Still playing with the mapping.
Take care both of you
Dot and Derek

Mark,

Always packing dolls Mark.. but then that means your business is very sucessfull, wont be long till the Christmas rush either. Hope you back is holding out OK this year.

Yes, you have watched them all grow up over the last 4 years.

We may not return to the canals till October now, and still I didnt have a good look at the stoppages to plan out where we will be. Time enough to do that though.

Jim,

Well as I just said I didnt work it out yet, hopefully I will do over the next few days. I wanted to get the blackening done at Norbury.. glad I didn't book it just in case..

Have noted the new website, will change my links later.

Nice to hear from you too!

Dot and Derek,

Yes I have been following with interest your trip to Wales. We were hoping to do that again this autumn, but with the stoppages, it isnt going to be possible.

I have no doubt we will bump into each other somewhere.. blimey there are not a lot of places to go before Xmas is there?!!!

Sue
