You are an alien being if you go anywhere as a pedestrian person these days.

Sue,
I really enjoy reading about your travels. You certainly make the areas you travel in sound very interesting and tempting to visit (if I had the time !)
I'd be interested in your thinking on the make up of out newest crew addition

I hope we can get her as well trained as you seem to have Lucy and Meg,
Take care and look forward to meeting you on the cut (only time I have seen your boat was last year on the Shroppie and you were away on your walkings at the time,
Nev
PS I have a willing partner now for some Geocaching !

I know you prefer to experience the canals rather than watch on tv, but if you fancy a break from the bank holiday boat traffic next Monday, the Discovery channel (250 on Sky)have 24 hours (really) starting at 6am, of canal related programs. I'm sure there will be a few repeats during the day and most programs have been on recently. Waterworld, Narrow Boat Afloat and Locks and Quays make up most of the day.

Furby, Nev, Trevor and Del & Al,
Furby.. well Hi For sure you are right. I have had many, many instances where being a pedestrian is 'not an option'. Even today out walking, to get from a footpath on one side of a dual carriageway to the other side to connect up to the same footpath is a no no. Central reservation alcove only, absolutely no chance on going across.. I would have been killed!! Hope you are well Furbs
Nev..
It is worth the training bit.. makes walking more relaxing.. while you are at it.. why not train to sniff out geocaches?
Del & Al,
Yep for sure, I am in my element here on the Nene, just love it I do.. Many thanks for your comment.. yep the lamp looks the biz eh?
Trevor,
Many thanks for that.. I don't tend to watch that stuff.. I am afraid I find it uninteresting. I like to discover for myself, and I feel that the cameras don't capture the true spirit of the waterways, especially the stillness and remoteness of areas.. I do watch them sometimes though..
