I can't believe that experienced boaters like you didn't know to drop your fenders down a bit! I thought that was the whole point of non-floating fenders. Still, there must be thousands of things that people assume everyone knows. But if you don't know, how do you know you don't know? (That was a bit Donald Rumsfeld, wasn't it!)

The fenders came with the boat when we bought it, so we didnt twig that they 'sunk'.. we are happy bunnies now we know they do, that puts a whole new complex on where to moor!
