Hi, Your comments are always most welcome

Gravatar As usual your daily writings are interesting and enjoyable. This past summer while on holidays and boating the 4 Counties Ring we got stopped near Stafford due to a tree down across the canal. With a 4 plus hour wait for BW to attend to clear the problem a group of us decided to walk into Stafford. (A lovely place by the way). We walked as we were no where near the bridge where the bus travels. It was some hike. Luckily the mess was cleaned prior to our having to return to the boat, and the fellows that stayed behind moved the boats to the bridge where we could simply take the bus to, saving us a 2nd long walk.

In any event we do enjoy reading of your travels, and on a day like today really wish we were still on holidays there.....It is currently
-35 degrees C and windy here in Northern Manitoba Canada..ouch!

Gravatar First comment to you!
Naughty really as I really enjoy reading your blog, and should have said so ages ago.

Anyway, just to tell you that "outside the warranty" doesn't hold water nowadays under the Sale of Goods Act.
If your radio is faulty, and not wear and tear, and likely to be a manufacturing fault the SoG act says the retailer is still responsible for repairing or replacing.
Check with the Trading Standards Dept of the local Council!
It may not cost you a penny to get fixed!

Gravatar Hello Sue & Vic

I am giving up reading most of the other NB blogs. Most of them just seem to want to blog to report problems in their lives. Why does living in a NB give them the right to publish all of their liefs niggles.

I am sure they started out with the best of intentions. Perhaps they should read and learn from yours.

One of them she even has a column in one of the NB mags. Another one I wrote to him and pointed out how negative his blogging was. He agreed and was fine for about a week.

Ho Hum.

Kevin
BTW tried uploading a photo, but it wouldn't go.

Gravatar Hello Sue, Vic and the puppies,

Sounds like you are making good progress along the canal and that everyone is doing well. Reading your blog really lifts my day and I can only imagine all of the wonderful adventures you are having.

Sounds like Meg is really growing up. Our pup Petey celebrated his 13th birthday this week and he's looking very fit. The scarf this month has a red background with white and silver hearts - just for Valentines day.

Good luck on getting the radio replaced and I hope it doesn't cost too much.

Best wishes,

Mark

Gravatar Hi Sue

Sorry to be a pain in the back end but would you like to see the breach on the Mon & Brec in Gilwern
Maureen

Gravatar Doug,

Brrrrrr now that IS cold!.. we have a few snow flurries at the moment and the north of england has a good blanket, but not as bad as you!

Yes stafford is quite a nice place, it has a castle you know. The bus is very handy from Radford Bridge, every half hour taking just 10 minutes to the centre.

Sue

Gravatar Richard, Glad you are enjoying the blog, and thankyou for your comment. I may well take the radio back then and see what they say, although I did get another one yesterday to replace it as I did not see your comment until this evening as I have been away since.

I do still have the receipt, and will give it a go.. got it from Argos in a town in the south of england, so will try take it back to a local one here.. will let you know. Thanks very much for that information Richard.

Sue

Gravatar Kevin and Debbie, Everybody's blog is different.. if they were all the same they would be boring.. sometimes my blogs are boring, sometimes there really isn't too much news to write about... But then I get told off by daughters for not writing anything for a day!! Can't win sometimes!

What photo were you trying to upload?

Sue

Gravatar Hi Mark,

Ha!.. Your pup Petey is 13 years old!!.. Hahaha they never grow up eh??!!

Aww I bet that red scarf looks good.. I had to wash Lucy and Meg's scarves last week they got so muddy, and Meg ripped one last week too, so it won't be too long till I have to replace them.

I love your idea of having different ones for different seasons I think I might do that when they need replacing.

We have not bought an expensive radio Mark, we never seem to have much luck with radios, so have decided not to spend a fortune on one just in case.. I am going to fit it tomorrow.. tis a car radio that needs to be 'fitted' into the slot just below the TV in the cupboard.. hope I get the wires right!!

Sue

Gravatar Maureen,

Yes, that would be great. Have they done any work on that yet Maureen?

Sue

Gravatar Just a test one. There is a photo upload icon now I spotterd.

Kevin

Gravatar Sorry Sue he Scan Attach Image don't work to send the Mon & Brec Breach Photos

Gravatar Kevin and Maureen, I need to check that out and find out how it works

Gravatar OK that will be fine. Haven't been to Gilwen since December may go there next week so will see if any progress have been made and will let you know
Went to Benidorm for Christmas and New year Brill it was too
Maureen

Gravatar Maureen, I have taken off the image link, it doesn't work well.

I have read in Towpath Talk that the Mon and Brec repairs are now a 2009 target. I seems they have done a bit of work on Gilwern, but BW have not produced a costing yet. Local reports are circulating however that the cost of repairs for the canal will be in excess of £20 million.. jeeeeeeez....

Sue
