Hi, Your comments are always most welcome

Gravatar Hi Sue,

So, what is a golliwog? Is it a small frog?

Good luck with the dentist.

Best wishes,

Mark

Gravatar Hi Sue,

I am glad Lucy and Meg get along. As long as Lucy remains top dog things will be fine

I love the idea that Lucy is teaching Meg about canal life, and can almost imagine her pointing out the over bridges and which side of locks to be on. I hope she teaches her about the perils of jumping through gates as well...

Bets wishes to all on board NP

Gravatar Sue,
You can put Norbury Wharf off from doing your work if you like. Then perhaps they can get on with putting Starcross' new engine in and I can get back on the cut! (Only joking!)
Jim

Gravatar Mark,

Now I am very surprised that you do not know what a golliwog is! For sure, you are in the same trade!

I thought also that golliwogs originated in America. I can see why you made your comment as a golliwog is also known to be a bullfrog tadpole!

I have put a link on the last blog so you can read all about golliwogs.

They were a favourite of the British public, famously a golly sticker or badge was given away on pots of Robertsons Jam and Marmalade.. but during the 80s and 90s golliwogs became a racist issue in Britain and disappeared from the shelves.

Apparently they are making a comeback now as more and more retailers are stocking them.

Ron,

Yes you are about right, Lucy is the perfect teacher, and it is obvious she is obviously enjoying this little one.

Lucy will always be top dog, but then she knows that. I guess Lucy has forgotten about that dreadful injury, and whenever I see a 5 bar gate I remember that awful day.. she is quite ready to leap over them again though!

Don't worry, when I see one to have to go through I get her to lie down before she gets withing jumping distance of it!

Jim,

Errrrrrr what can I say?

Sue
