Hi, Your comments are always most welcome

Gravatar Hello Sue

I am back home now. I did 9 hours in that wind but going west on the old Nene so the wind was predominantly behind me once through Salters Lode lock.

My NB came out of the water. The good news is the hull survey showed virtually no deterioration from the original, so not bad for a 22 year old. The bad news was I need all new stern gear. OUCH!! as the rear of the shaft waggled about by around 10mm, oh and the rudder has no leading edge. The marina chap reckoned I did well thus far to steer it at all like that.

Kevin

Gravatar Kevin, Well done you! Hey don't complain, that is not bad maintenance for the length of time you have had her!

Anything to do with the stern gear, just be thankful you didn't sink!

See you soon!

Gravatar Hello Sue

Yes that's what they said.

I have only had the boat 18 months but I bought it as a project so I'm not complaining really. Should go back in the water Thursday morning all being well. So I will be going back probably over the w/e.

Look forward to seeing you over our way soon.

Kevin

Gravatar Kevin, Sheesh much more of this boating Kevin and you will be hooked!!

Your boat is moored on The Lark isn't it? We can only go as far as the Marina I think with this boat.. there is no way I am going to try turn at Judes Bridge.. but we will see you somewhen for sure..

Gravatar Yep we are on the lark, and the Marina is probably the next on winding you could safely do. I can do it only 300m up river but only just in a 60'er.

Boat should go back in the water today, so should move it back on the w/e.

Kevin

Gravatar Kevin,

Well I guess you will have moved your boat by the time you read this.. piece of cake no doubt!.. Least you gave Debs a few days off!!

I think I will turn at the marina, I know where you mean about turning a bit further on, but if the river is low there is no way I will get turned there!

Looking forward to see you both in a couple of months..
