i worked for bwb in the 60 and early 70s as a boatman. and lived aboard for a number of years. i was a third
generation.i love the trent and the people and have never found anything to compaire. i think it has to be in the blood othewise its hard work.the swans reminded me of nottingham, meadow lane bakery thay swam up at 2pm rang a bell to be fed by staff every day. the foam in the lock was another, cromwell was always covered in it. happy days. well sue ill have to go. may the wind allways be beind you and keep tripping a boatman. ps throw the barge poll overboard and use a boathook its much much safer
