Hi, Your comments are always most welcome

Wow, must have been travelling fast.
Sue, your good at pushing narrowboats,
"are you sure you havent given a helping hand"

Boy this brings back some memories!!

Our first ever canal boat holiday was from the BWB base at Nantwich on board NB Water Tulip, and we went up to Llangollen. We stopped over night in Whitchurch on the night that 'Brotherhood of Man' won the Eurovision song contest.

God I'm getting old!!

You will be in Aquaduct country soon..... Hope you like heights!!

Gravatar hi, enjoyed the story/pictures, we intend to do the trip next week from nantwich to llangolllen, our first reallly big trip in my recently aquired colecraft, any thing we need to know or any tips please? thankyou

Gravatar Colin,

Glad you enjoyed.. no tips really, I think it is always best to 'explore' anyway!.. Just remember to watchout that your narrowboat actually will fit into those first four locks at Hurleston.

The lock keeper said that last Tuesday week she had 5 boats get stuck in the locks, and they had no fenders down!

The locks are the narrowest on the whole system, so my only tip would be to fill them slowly and keep a watch on both sides of the boat for it getting stuck and shout to drop paddles if it does.. then find the lock keeper!

Good luck and enjoy

Sue
