Hello to you all,
Sue thankyou for the information about the golliwogs. I have never heard of these black faced raggedy Ann dolls and it was most interesting to read the history.
Your beautiful pictures sure show that fall has come to the canals. It looks like everything is slowing down as winter approaches.
Hope you have a great day.
Best wishes,
Mark

Mark,
I rue the day that the golly was not seen as a good thing to have to be honest, my children were young then, and one of them had a 'must have' golly.. difficult to snatch that away at the time.
I remember travelling to London on one occasion on the tube, and one of my children said.. "Hey look Mum a golliwog" pointing to a little black guy sitting opposite..
Mark, he smiled at the youngster.. I think he smiled at the innocence of the remark... I know he did.
Yep the colours of the cut are superb at the moment, I hope they will get better before the trees rid themselves of the leaves.
Slowing down? Do you think we can get much slower then?
