Dear Vic and Sue
You are right about the storms moving in last night. Sat here this morning listening to the wind battering the house up here on top of the island. The waves are breaking up Chesil beach at least half way so that means the swell is at least 25 feet high. Looks like a day of inside jobs as well as doing the first racking of the 48 gallons of cider we managed to collect this year from two trees alone. Production only stopping because we ran out of 5 gallon containers.
May your blogg carry on for a long time to come yet sue. It brings many pleasures to all of us who have the good fortune to know you well and those who drop in to follow your travels.
Its given me the idea of maybe starting my own one day and telling people about our island life here on Portland.
Take care Sue, I hope 2008 brings you back down to our area so that I get a chance to have a look at this monster boat you now drive. I am sure I will handle this one as well as I did the last one.
Regards James

Gravatar Hi Sue and Vic,

The rain on the roof sounds wonderful. Good sleeping weather. We've had a lot of wind here coming off the ocean but no rain this weekend.

Busy packing dolls for all of the good little girls and boys. Trying to get out all of the Christmas orders and keep up with everything. Sharlene and I went shopping on Saturday for a few hours and it has taken me two days to catch up. I'm getting too old for this.

Enjoy your blog every day and hope you recover quickly from your back injury. Seems like this wood gathering is dangerous work for both you and Vic.

Best wishes,

Mark

Gravatar Hi Sue, Vic & Girls

Pitter patter raindrops !! I agree on a snug cosy boat it's a magical sound. However on a sunday morning snuggled under the duvet ( in a house ) when the pitter patter becomes more of a drip drip drip on the bed it's not quite so magical !! The desire to swop my broken slate roof for a solid steel one is becoming even more inviting by the day now.

As always love the blog.
Take care
Alex.

Gravatar James,

Southwards of course in the New Year!

Mark,

No not dangerous work, it keeps us fit Mark.. OK so a stain on the back.. but we have to be more careful! Certainly collecting wood in winter is good, I would not want to be a couch potato in the winter for sure.

Glad the dolls are going well, hey.. all the boys and girls are good this time of year aren't they?

Alex,

That sounds really bad.. get a boat quick! There is nothing much better than hearing that as you lay your head to your pillow you know..

What is PS Weybridge July 11th by the way?

Sue

Gravatar Paul,

Well the weather was not as bad as I thought it might be, and we had an eventful weekend as you will see by the blog..

Gravatar Alex,

Thankyou for that.. I had already tried to get tickets pre-sale, but my connection was too slow. There are plenty of tickets for sale, but I won't sit 20 or so rows back, only rows 1,2 and 3 will do for me.. I will wait!

Sue
