Hi, Your comments are always most welcome

Gravatar The canal looks lovely now when we went through birmingham in the early eighties there was hardly any water ,lots of derelict buildings and rubbish not to mention the glue sniffers . Its nice to know some of the money has been well spent clearing it all up .
hope you are having a good day
Chris

Gravatar Ah, Birmingham is sooo much better than it used to be (I am biased having lived here for 30+ years now!). You certainly chose the best route through Brum - half the time you wouldn't believe that you're in the second largest city in Britain!

I hope you enjoy your trip down the Lapworth flight - our boat Emma Jane is moored between Locks 12 & 13.

The Boot Inn is great if you want a proper restaurant style pub, whereas the Navigation Inn (on the GU, but not far from the junction) is a more traditional country pub that does great food.

I look forward to seeing where you head next - it's nice to see familiar territory explored through other people's eyes.

Happy cruising,
Peter

Gravatar Chris and Peter,.. ---------------------------

Chris,

Yes, that is what I remember too, it was only because of Paul's DVD that we ventured through. We are non city people normally.. but that was exceptional!

Peter,

You have a great mooring there, I was walking by this evening. Thanks for the tips on the pubs, yes I did have a look at the Boot Inn, they have a big wedding to do tomorrow, so that is out, might check out the other one then.. that sounds more like me!

The next time we visit Birmingham we shall chose a different route and perhaps spend more time there.

Sue
