Well it's about time the SPurs #1 blogger from dark Angel country commented on offseason!
Nick Van Exel will become what I will refer as to the modern Big three but not a starting big three ala the Big D's version of Fin, nash, N da German. This will be a small less modern bench version consisting of
Big Shot Bobbie, Da Finn and NVE.
When we play H-town & Dallas they will wear out due to out depth. This team is so deep that even if Duncan went down for the season we could still repeat as champions assuming Manu is healthy. In fact can anyone tell me of any other SPurs team in which it was their title to lose? Always Lakers in the background or Utah, but this year who? Miami? Plz Indiana will handle them.
Stoudamire out for 4 months? It's over 70 wins baby and 4th ring!
p.s. I know someone here does not like this put have to say it: "how 'bout 'em timper-puppies?" LOL

yeah, basically all this signing can do is help the spurs. it won't hurt them at all. if he sucks or is an asshole, they can sit him on the bench, or cut him. i love this deal.

COKE08: A title without Duncan? Yer crazy. I love Manu, but he's not THAT good. But we do have ridiculous depth; everybody should be well rested going into the playoffs.
I don't think the Spurs will win a ton (as in more than 62) of regular season games. Pop loves to dick around with schemes and player rotations.
Doug: You make a good point about the ability to cut Van Exel; something I meant to mention in fact.

How is it not conceivable for us to win it even if DUncan goes down? All the team needs to do is bring their game up a notch and most importantly if Ginobili can lead a bunch of stiffs(except Luis Scola/......) then he can surely lead us to a championship..of course also means Parker will have to be consistent, that Horry wins atleast one game for us, and that no other major injuries... But yes I do believe we are that deep that even an injury to Duncan will not stop us from our DESTINY.
70 wins is realistic.....no less than 62....though i must say we need Duncan to get the 68-70 wins.
Hell our bench alone could win us 50 games.
