It's been a long time coming, and considering the recent success(or profound lack there of) of Seattle sports teams, it's nice to know that my favorite team didn't let me down.

Player of the game:
It would be blasphemy not to give it to the man of the hour/playoffs: Ray Allen. 30 points, 6 boards, a fall back J with defenders on him, a blocked shot, and a 3 with a man up in his grill to extend the close lead during a key stretch in the 4th, and The Layup at the end to seal it.
But I need a couple more game balls to give away here. One to A.D. who returned to form with 14 pts and 8 dimes and, I’m almost certain, a brilliant +/- game stat. The other game ball goes to Collison. The old sparkblug off the bench award for his energy, hustle, 15 pts & 9 boards.
Reasons to be oh so optimistic:
You mean aside from Ray Allen in a wicked zone and Jerome going apes**t? How about the fact that in games 4 & 5, both Lewis and A.D. showed us the form they had when the Sonics were surprising the league with fantastic play? A.D. wreaking havoc and starting the rally and Lewis getting strong post paints and hitting dagger three’s at the end. Did I say thank you yet, team? You guys rocked…
Reasons to be pessimitic:
Advancing to the 2nd round in 5? Not a single negative word. Did I say congratulations to this team yet? And a big frikkin’ thanks for the season and this round?
Question of the night:
is taking the night off…

Awesome game. Supes have found their early season form and then some.
Oh yeah, Jerome James was waving a garbage bag around because that's what he was given to clean out his locker when Sac cut him.

I think the password is for season ticket holders, who usually get first crack at playoff tickets (lucky bastards!). Check back later, and it should be open to the rest of us poor working stiffs.

Yep I read closer and the presale is open to the general unwashed public tomorrow. Damn, I just hate being a plebeian.
At least I got to go last night...it was rad, RAD I tells you...

it was "Rad"? weird.
I think the sonics are gonna kill the spurs because bruce bowen can only gaurd one of Lewis and allen, leaving the other to wreak havoc, plus I think collison can guard tim duncan better than people think.

"Rad" (short for "Radical") was a term used in America in the 1980's to say something is "brilliant", "rather smashing", or "a jolly good show!". It is also short for Vladimir Radmanovic (aka RadMan, aka Vladidunk RadDunkovic) of the Seattle Supersonics.
I think it was also the name of a skate and/or bmx movie. And a robot.

Anyone else catch the post-game interview with JJ and Ray on TNT? Ray was his usual calm, controlled self, but JJ looked like he'd been doing shots on the bench at the end of the game. Between his disposition and the "cape", I'm guessing his agent was a little less than enthused about his showing on national TV.
That aside, fantastic win for the Sonics. I also have a confession to make: I pitched the idea of a "Sonics win series" and "Sonics lose series" to chunky (back me up here, man) before the start of the series. Honestly, if I had had to wager, I would have put money on the Sonics, but, hey, someone had to write the negative piece, and since I'm a jackass by nature, I figured I'd be the man for it. Have nor fear, Sonics faithful, I was expecting a win all along.
Now, about that Spurs series ...

That's why I was confused because I thought she meant "Rad (manovich)" but he didn't have a big game. Where I'm from, "Rad" has never been a common word.

That move Ray put on him in the first half was a gem. Miller buckled on the crossover like the ghost of Olden Polynice had whacked him across the back of his knees.

Yes, Nuss and I colluded to make me the winner and he the loser in the Sonics Win/Lose double-header. It was a total fix. Nuss took one for the team. He's a gamer. He fills up the stat sheet. Does the little things. The very definition of a savvy veteran.
What a weird, deliriously wonderful game. I know it's been said already, and that ESPN, NBA.com and the papers have already remarked on it, but got-DAMN the Luke Ridnour behind-the-back-no-look pass to Rashard for the dunk was SICK. I needed a fresh pair of adult undergarments after that.
