Susan, thank you for pointing out the absurdity....not only of the looters...but also the equally
absurd signs, advocating murder! But these people that do both the looting and the ones wanting to take the law in their own hands and murder the looters are of course ignorant of the teachings of our Lord and Savior...
Jesus of Nazereth. I can certainly understand the human emotions
being stirred by the depravity exhibited in humans commiting such crimes against their fellow humans. I do hope the ones that are suggesting we follow the teachings of the old testament,
(an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth) are not professing to
be followers of the teachings of Jesus the Christ! For a follower of Jesus Christ is .under the new testament laws. Jesus the Christ
did (without hesitation....he didn't
stutter) away with an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. Jesus the Christ has fulfilled the laws. "Vengence is mine says the
Lord" Turning the other cheek is
an extremely difficult teaching to
adhere to! Personally, I would love to beat the looters to death,
over shooting them!.....but...this is wrong.....this would entail my
surrendering to my personal feelings and emotions( my flesh!)
This is the hard part.....letting go of what we want to do, and following instead....the teachings
of our Master! This, ladies and gentlemen....is entering the narrow gate! We can expect these kind of basic animal instincts to be yielded to, and not controlled by ones spiritual self, ( that spiritual being that we really are, the one created in Gods image, the one that was preordained and predestined, the
only way that we can make intercession with the Holy Spirit, and our Lord and Master Jesus Christ...The Living Son of God) but instead, by non-followers of Jesus the Christ! But I do realize it to be very hard for christians to follow....when some of their leaders are expressing the desire to have someone, ( a human being)
assassinated! I hope that a lot of
christians are appalled at Pat Robertson for suggesting murder....in the name of God! Thank you for listening, and thank you Susan for having the wisdom to point out that....two
