My prayer is that Congress will recognize how much this corruption, both on the parts of Democrats and Republicans, is causing our citizens to remove themselves from civic duty. We need ethics rules that have real penalities, not just slaps on the wrist.

The Corruption is truely Bi-Partisan. and neither side seems willing to address it for fear they will lose ground to the other. The leadership on both sides of the aisle should be replaced with those who have character and honesty... Unfortunately those are two commodities that are very rare in Beltway Politics.

Greenly-Yes, there should be very stiff penalities...like prison time and they should be held at a higher standard because of their position representing the people. They represent and benefit themselves unfortunately though with very little reprimand.

Darrell, you are welcome - I enjoyed your post. You said it, they should be replaced with true character and honesty but unlikely and rare to find ones with such integrity. Morals seem to be forgotten by most up there.
