this so brightened my day in a way that only a mohawk-sporting, gold-chain-wearing, child-mentor can.

Gravatar That is a big bunch of awesome and I'm pretty sure my husband would want one.

Gravatar Literally the next post on Google Reader was this - http://austinist.com/2008/10/15/ ...ds_saturday.php

Come down to Austin and you can watch the Mr. T cartoon this weekend!

Gravatar I will pay for if I have to. And just in time for Christmas! Thank you Baby Jesus for showing me a cheap way to give gifts this season!!!

Gravatar Bossy likes it. So much more "colorful" than the old version.

See how Bossy did that? Made a coloring book joke in the early A.M.? Oh wait, it's 30 minutes til noon.

Gravatar delurking to say that this is the most awesome thing in the world. PDF! PDF! I'd even pay for it, it's that cool. Thanks for making my day.

Gravatar Funny! I remember a Mr. T doll that my brother and I would always like to visit in the toy aisle..."Study hard in school" he'd say in his infamous Mr. T accent.

Gravatar I plan to buy some crayons at lunch and spend my afternoon covertly coloring.

Gravatar thirty-onederful.

Gravatar Use CutePDF (http://www.cutepdf.com/). Place your images in a Word document and then print to PDF and distribute at will (barring copyright infringement, I suppose).

Gravatar This is so fantastic. Definitely, Christmas gifts. For like everyone I know. Thanks for sharing the boun-T!

Also I hope everyone has seen this, but if not you'll thank me:

Gravatar I pity the fool who doesn't wish Wood the happiest of birthdays yet.

Luckily, I do, and am therefore exempt from self-pity, that most unattractive of emotions.

Gravatar very nice. makes me want to go here http://www.soundboard.com/sb/ Mr_...Soundboard.aspx

Happy Birthday Wood!

Gravatar man i used to love the A-Team

what? it was cool! what?

Gravatar Ummmm, that was pretty much hilarious. Thanks!

Gravatar you can also just google PDF creator, and there are a host of free downloadable options. you just use it through your "print" option on your computer. it sets up the same way, then you choose PDF Printer and the file will turn into a PDF.

Gravatar happy birthday, wood!!

Gravatar Why, oh why did they decide to include images like Mr. T gazing at some modern sculpture?? HAHAHA! I love it.

Gravatar This just made my life.

I love the one where Mr. T is using his binoculars to look directly at the cactus right in front of him.

Gravatar thanks everyone for the kind words and the PDF advice---I initially tried using some of those easy solutions but the printed page came out with the images super small, so when the kid woke up from his nap I used the computer in his room (the only one with acrobat pro) and created a PDF with the full-sized images. download it here:

Gravatar What's this jibba jabba? A coloring book with Mr. T?!

Once we saw Mr. T outside of a Laker Game. My husband's like, "Hey, Mr. T," as if he were saying, "Hey, Joe." Or "Hey, Bryan."

Mr. T said, "Hey man." It was cool.

Gravatar These are such a smashing success, that now we both know you need to start inserting random Mr. T images into lesser coloring book pages.

How much better would a Dora the Explorer book be, for example, if it featured Mr. T berating Boots/etc. on every page? I think I smell a spinoff blog, and millions of dollars for you. You're welcome.

Happy birthday, Wood!

P.S. I am very jealous of anna (above).

Gravatar Delurking to say this is so funny! I was never a big fan of Mr. T. I think he scared me. But I got a kick out of the funny captions to go with those odd coloring book pages. I love your blog. Happy Birthday to Wood!

Gravatar Six TRILLION kinds of awesome, and - right this minute - better than Ativan for chilling me out, which is the highest praise that I can give anything these days.

Gravatar Totally amazing!

Gravatar This has caused me to laugh to the point of embarrassingly loud hiccups. Which, in the interest of fairness, your writing has done to me on several occasions prior to this. Nicely done, sir!

Gravatar Gawd! Jibba jabba?!?!? I love it! My gut hurts from laughing so hard!

Gravatar I too have a Mr. T story (actually I have a couple, but this is my favorite): once during a family trip to Chicago, my brothers (who were about 8 at the time) were in the locker room at our hotel getting ready for a swim in the pool when Mr. T's hype man (manager?) came over to them and asked if they wanted to meet Mr. T. So they went over and shook his hand and he talked to them about staying in school, being nice to our mom, etc. But the best part is that he was wearing on only a towel, there were naked dudes everywhere, and my brothers were totally uncomfortable. Mr. T or no Mr. T, they couldn't wait to get the heck out of there.

Gravatar This is unbelievable. Mr. T bearing crabs? Perfect.

Question: is there a way to get the pages to be white with black illustrations in the PDF? Most of them shop up in negative when I open it. I'm dying to print this out - it'll be a Merry Christmas for all.

Gravatar hi jessie- I'm not sure what's happening with your PDF. when I try they are black illustrations on white paper.

maybe it's some kind of setting with your reader? anybody else having this problem?

Gravatar ::Dies::
Love, love, LOVE this!

Only one question.... WHAT happened in New Hampshire??

Gravatar This is awesome. I love it. In college the independent paper I wrote for once did an entire issue based on Mr. T. We had little known Mr. T facts, like the well known Chuck Norris facts. I wrote an article on Mr. T hating on racism. It had a quiz to help you find out if you're a racist.

One comment though, I'm a English grad student and my boy is a Faulkner/Hemingway fan so I'm pretty much an expert. In the marlin fishing page shouldn't it be refering to Hemingway? He's the famous marlin fisher. Faulkner, um, maybe less so.

Gravatar I still have my Mr. T crayons. The names of the colors are so funny...i.e. "Brotherhood Black"! I am so glad I kept them.

Gravatar MR T says, "William Faulkner/Ernest Hemingway, who cares about all that jibba jabba?"

Trust me, I know who wrote The Old Man and the Sea. Whether I know how to properly insert allusions to 20th century fiction into my Mr. T coloring books so that people think I'm funny instead of stupid may be up for debate.

Gravatar Oh my. Thank you for a great laugh! I'm going to have to give you some link love for this one--hilarious!

Gravatar hmm... I'm having trouble with the PDF, too. Many of the pages come up really grainy? Anyone else having this problem? I tried looking at it in my browser, and saving the file.

Mr. T used to live in near a relative of mine. It was a forested area, and he cut all the trees down on his 5+ acres of land, because of his allergies.

Gravatar I printed this out and brought it to my brother-in-law, who is stuck in the hospital and on too many pain killers to read. He loves it and reports it has made him very popular. Thanks for brightening his day!

Gravatar HA!

I totally didn't get that subtle Faulkner/Hemingway joke either!

I seriously thought dutch was off on that one.

-As IF that could ever be the case...

Gravatar I just liked the idea of Mr. T knowing that some major figure in American literature wrote about marlin fishing, but not being too good on the specifics.

my idea of humor.

Gravatar I can only wonder WHAT Mr. T could have done to warrant an "I'm sorry" gift of a bushel of Maryland Crabs?!

Gravatar Maybe with the bushel he is finally saying sorry for "the crime they didn't commit".

Oh my that was such an excellent coloring book.

Gravatar I'm having the same problem with the pdf as jessie; lots of the pages are white on black. A few of them are perfectly fine, which makes me think it's not a setting issue. Did anyone else have this and figure out how to fix it?

Gravatar Okay, my workaround for the pdf problem was clicking on the easier-to-read version and just downloading each jpg individually (drag & drop on my computer). It only took a couple of minutes. Hope that helps someone...

Gravatar you are hilarious.

Gravatar I did experience the "negative effect" when opening the PDF automatically via the Mac app "Preview." (Double-clicking the PDF and whatever your default viewer happens to be may render the PDF hinky?)

Opening directly through Acrobat worked like a charm for me. Could be default PDF viewers, mayhap? Try going right for Acrobat, may work.

Gravatar holy shit! i totally owned that coloring book as a kid and watched the cartoon. now i gotta call my parents to see if my mom kept it in one of the 12,000 boxes in their basement that represent my childhood.

Gravatar I work at a print shop, so now my nephew has a professionally printed and bound Mr. T coloring book. Thanks!
