Read your article this morning and agree with you-all those now holding seats of power in the congress,should just go home and get off our backs, and stop taking this country down the socialist tube.

I totally agree. I've actually been a candidate for US Congress, Libertarian Party; lost in the primary, of all things, but I do find the current political climate depressing. It's like the bit in 1984 (yes, I know, Orwellian allusions are nearly as bad as Nazi ones) where there are three major countries constantly fighting each other to give people something to cheer about, something to worry about, and, most of all, something to be distracted about.
A few months away from the Republican primary, all my Republican friends suddenly started spewing FUD about Hillary Clinton and Obama. It was unbelievable. Normal, rational people telling me we have to vote Republican, not matter how evil they are, because they aren't as evil as the other guy.
