Congrats on your mom's wedding. That is an interesting experience and I think your feelings are justified. You have a good attitude... enjoy it with your family and hope for the best!
This must be the one that you didn't want to subject me to when you came to visit that time. I hope that in time you won't feel that way about him anymore, since he is going to be a part of your extended family. It sounds like you have the right attitude about it, though, that it is all about your mom being happy.
It seems that it may simply be the fact that you don't have any connection to your mother's romantic relationships generally--and truly, what child does? Parental romance is something that has traditionally been pushed out of the picture as it has no place in the world of nurturing, and more importantly, parents are more afraid of sex as it relates to their kids than anything else.
