we used half of ours to pay down credit cards, took a little bit out for "fun" money and put the rest in savings.
How I long for a tax return - been paying out for the past few years myself...
Yeah my rebate is going to go to my much poofier credit card bills too. Boring, but necessary.
See, mine was gone way back in February. As soon as I get all of my forms in the mail, I get my taxes done! I'm pretty excited for next year--child rebate! Woo!
However, with our economy stimulus, we are paying off debt AND getting a camcorder to film our little munchkin. Gotta stimulate the economy at least a little, right!? 
Summer daycamp for the kid. Crap.
My husband has determined that we are getting a flat screen TV. He says he deserves it because I got the MacBook Air. And he wants a Wii. At least you had a choice.
I've been having the same dilemma myself. I'd love to spend it on a dSLR; I mean, I've only been wanting one for five years! But I'll be without a job in four days and I'm not sure when the new one will start, so I'm going to have to let responsibility win again. It's nice to feel proud of myself for doing the right thing, though.
