Voice of the Spirit Calls!

Gravatar Very sweet story Vince!

Thanks. It was a sweet day.

Gravatar Dang!! What a great love story! Except for the part where you said you were both bored on your honeymoon and wanted to go home. ROTF!!

Great pics Rocker Guy, you both look so YOUNG even in your wedding pic. Please tell The Wife I think she's one of the most beautiful brides I've ever seen. She truly is!

And yes you looked handsome too, even if you do have that "hahaha she's MINE now!" look on your face.....

Looking forward to the next installment of the Rocker Guy Family!

I still have that "ha, she's mine!" look about me. And we were young. Didn't seem like it at the time, but damn we were kids.

Gravatar Aww....! Very nice.

Cute pics. You should post a pic of the invites with the bears kissing. I bet it was the sweetest looking thing.

BTW, I can't believe you mentioned Aunt Flo!! Ai yi yi :P

Hey, that was a bit of a downer for the two of us that week. We made up for it later. I'll have to dig around for the invites. I may still have some around.

Gravatar Sounds like a good wedding all 'round. And the picture is wonderful, you two look so cute together!

Thanks. We had a blast that night.

Gravatar You think I didn't keep a copy of the invitations? You underestimate me! My mother tried to talk me into something more sophisticated, on the theory that I would regret my choice of invitation once I got older. Never have! They were cute then, and they're still cute now. But they're not sickeningly sweet cute.

As for the nephew, he was only four (my niece who was my flower girl was seven). So he held up pretty well for his tender age.

Also, one of the reasons we came back early from our honeymoon was that I underestimated the amount of paperwork there would be to take care of. Men forget this because THEY don't have to change their names. At a minimum, I wanted to update my driver's license. And this gave us time to drive to Buffalo so I could have my military dependent's card before we got to DC. No card, no medical service, no commissary privileges, no NOTHING!!

True on the paperwork, but we did go to Buffalo to start your dependent card the day we left on our honeymoon. So we got the important thing out of the way immediately. And I know we have the invitations still. Just got to find the box they're in.

Gravatar What's wrong with sex while Aunt Flo is around? Just put down a towel or two and you're fine.

The Wife was a beautiful bride. But Vince, the tux you had for junior prom...holy 80s!

Gravatar Julie,

The towel trick probably works for most, but I really didn't want to leave that for the maids to clean up. Besides, when you're flowing like Niagara Falls, nothing works.

Gravatar OH WOW! How come 1989 seems so long ago? I was still in college and had no idea about what itwas like to be in a serious relationship! yuo look the same!

Well, the hair is more gray and there's a little less of it. The Wife, howver, has not changed a bit other than the hair style.

And 1989 WAS a long time ago.

Gravatar AWWWWW. Love the pictures. So cute.

Thanks. Did I mention that the prom picture is still in my wallet?

Gravatar Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww... how sweet!!!

I owe you an e-mail... I've been completely and utterly swamped!!!

Hey, no prob. Throw me a line when you get a chance.

Gravatar Its nice to have proof that fairy tales still can be written. Oh, I know, not every second was perfect, but I think the sweetest part of all these stories is that you still carry the prom picture. I can believe that any of us were ever that young. We thought we knew so much and were so grown up. We were so full of crap!

Oh my God you are so right! I remember thinking I knew everything when I was 16. What an idiot I was!

Things have not been perfect. Coming up soon you'll probably read about the "dark" years. But one thing has never changed. I'm still crazy in love with her.

Plus, it would be too much work to go and get me another woman. Those newer, younger models are WAY too high maintenance.

Gravatar This is SO SWEEET! You got married the same year as my hubby and I did.

Your wife truly was(is) stunning! You make a gorgeous couple. The tux looks great on you and those flowers are gorgeous!

I like her dress better than mine!! Mine had big poufy sleeves that I liked alright at the time, but looking at the wedding pics now...not so much.

Meant to tell you, your little boy is SO CUTE! I am not sure if you posted a pic of your older one. But that little grasshopper?? TOO CUTE!

Her sleeves were a little poofy, but not much. She was quite the beautiful that day. And the beauty has not diminished since.

I've got pictures of Maverick around. Best thing to do is go here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/291...57594171379365/ to se recent pictures.

Gravatar Oh, btw. I hear you about Aunt Flo AND the paperwork.

Aunt Flo is NO FUN. Who cares about mess?? It is just...I dunno. Icky, ya know??

And I had to not only change my name, but get a green card so I could leave my home country and move to another. Talk about paper work and appointments, not to mention traveling to consulates, etc! We had no honeymoon and still, almost 17 years later, have not had one *sniff*

Damn, no honeymoon! You are so overdue!

Gravatar Wow. You guys did it right. Maybe that's why my marriage didn't last--'cause I did the whole wedding, honeymoon, name-changing thing wrong.

Nah. It's because he was an asshole. Vince--don't turn into an asshole!

Me, be an asshole! Never! But don't ask the Wife about it. I'm not sure the answer she'll give you!

Gravatar Ah... that's so sweet. I have loved hearing the whole journey of you and The Wife from dating to marriage. May everyone who enters into a committed relationship be as in love as you two. **sniffling** (I always cry at weddings, and evidently one that took place in 1989 and is written about on the internet is no exception)

Thanks. I think it's the love that's kept us together for so long.

Gravatar Y'all looked like little kids playing dress up!

Looking back, I think that's exactly what we were!

Gravatar Ah, weddings. Fodder for the rest of your lives.

Luckily it's all good fodder. All told, it went off without a hitch. Or I'm getting too old to remember the details any longer.
