Gravatar Dear Taco: Great to hear you enjoyed your time with Gunny and Mrs. Jarhead in Okinawa. Funny, but I would have thought a dinner in Japan would be a lot more expensive. You did say a forty-hour flight, right? Can't wait for more snippets of conversations from the Best of the Best. How are Mrs. Taco and the baby doing? Good grief, forty hours.

Gravatar In 1981, my sister caught a hop from Okinowa to California. She was 19, blond, AF E3 on a plane with 247, count 'em, 247 marines. During those days you had to fly in dress blues--double breasted coat, A-line skirt, nylons--we didn't have any dress pants yet. (It was lots of fun looking at a relief tube in that outfit) Fortunately, some 6'6" marine from Tennesse took it upon himself to sit next to her all the way--27 hours I think. She appreciated it a lot, but when it came time to go back, she decided to fly commercial.

Gravatar WELCOME HOME TACO,I'M SURE WE WILL MEET BEFORE THE TRAIL RUNS OUT.NEXT TIME AT BRADLEY FIELD GIVE ME A CALL.

Gravatar Glad you're safe over the puddle. Aaaaah, the banter of bored men! Gotta agree on some of the picks the guys came up with! Take care Taco. Enjoyed the monkey story. Nothing says fun like a dumpster full of pissed off monkeys!! Hope you gave that Gunny some love!

Gravatar Glad you made it there AOK. We had a FANTASTIC time with your Mom and Dad this weekend! Sorry you missed the milblog conference but, as anyone would expect, they did you PROUD!!! I've got video. SammyD has photos. We'll get all of that out to you soon.

Have as much fun as you can, be safe and get one home before long!

P. S. I PROMISED NOT to type anything that would embarrass you or your parents. Dang! Why DO I make those promises???? Your childhood room is still intact, though!!! Tee hee!

Gravatar Taco - We missed you, but had a great time hanging with your parents. I feel left out though, I didn't get any time in your bed (I didn't make promises like Leta), but I saw the pic!

Gravatar BWAHAHAH...yes you're sick and I love it.

THIS is why I SO love Marines.

Semper Fi

Gravatar Watch out ht ePC police will come get you and take away your fuel money.

Gravatar Sounds like the male version of a Church Lady meeting.....

Gravatar Love the thought chain - personally I'd opt for Rosie first my own self. She would make a great boat anchor.

40 hours does not sound fun, no matter how you slice it, though.

Gravatar LOLOL!! Bridget, I was thinking the very same thing (again!)!!!!!

Gravatar Ah. That did my heart good Taco, thank you so much.

Been laughing all day!

Gravatar Ok....the next flight I want to be voted in, would like to contribute my dialouge....I have a few choices for dumping...sounds like my kind of flight......thanks once again for the chuckles....you always have that special way of making my day....laughing or week......I loved the visuals....lol.
take care.

Gravatar 3500 hour club on c130e out of yakota. it took me 12 days to return from pdm in ga that damm thing had just been given a thorough reaming out and every time the engines were shut off the damn thing would break. but then we were flying 63 model. i would say i have been to all the great places a dozen times and all the shitty places a hundred. low level missions are like a 6 or 8 hour roller coaster rides. and with my luck i am all ways tail end charlie. i used to make the trip to iwo jima every monday and chalked for 8 hours on the ground.
