The Sens have never needed to go after a top flilght FA because they just resign the ones they have. Spezza, Heatley, Alfie, Redden (at the time) are good examples.

If you're referring to Fletcher, what he actually said was that last time he was hired as GM he told the media he wanted to be GM here until he retired, which would have meant a lot of years of great success. Today he joked that it will actually happen that way, bar the 10 year hiatus in between. It was a funny moment by a classy guy here with no illusions about the task at hand.
By the way, keep in mind that every one of you Sens fans that watch Leafs content on TSN or through any of the media channels who also carry live games, you are adding more Leaf hits, more Leaf interest, and more likeliness that they will keep playing Leaf games over Sens games in broadcast.
