McCabe is a decent offensive d-man. I think he got a bum rap in Toronto because of his salary.
Moral victory for the Leafs tonight, a real victory for the Sens. I'll take that any day.

Niedermayer, Getzlaf, Perry, Selanne, Whitney are Tomato Cans?
Didn't see much of the Leafs game it being my own hockey night. The Muppet did score a beauty tip in but gave the puck away at his own blue line leading to a breakaway. Speaking of tomato cans...

Ah, Sergei, I wish haloscan comments were retreivable. A nice little reversal of fortune of Nola was quoted therein.
May you get the worst of the effects, Sergei and we'll wish you a merry "boo hoo".

Hey come on, I'm far from a fan of O.N., but that flu game was classic, and one of the best quotes ever.
Can't help that it's the first thing that comes to mind when the Snes start talking about the flu.
Anyway, congrats on squeaking out a win against a cellar dweller. I'll take a point from one of the top teams in the West in their rink.

This "flu" is going to run roughshod in the league this season. Watch as many players get felled by it.

Amen. For those keeping count, the Leafs have played very well over the last 3 games. That alone should signify that the team has indeed turned the corner. 2 weeks ago they weren't even in the running for an OT loss.
Toronto have taken 3 of a possible 6 points on this road trip so far and still a chance to grab more. Although, I'll be the first to say I'm not expecting much in Buffalo if history has anything to do with it. Feels like we never win when we visit the armpit of America.

Dallas is one of the top teams in the West why? Because of four overtime losses and one more game played than the two teams coming from behind.
Creative thinking, though.

Perhaps you're new to the whole "points" system of getting to the playoffs.
But I do empathize; those participation points for losers are good for self esteem.

HILLARIOUS.. yup the leafs pulled a point out of a game with who???? oh well good fer them you took the handi-capable prize. BB is going to feed any hope of the moster(dissapointment)
getting a streak going and turn him inyo another Toskala. I see this team needs another good year of drafts...oh wait...DOH! I truly do feel sorry for the fans but why on earth does everyone else have to see this crap day in and day out????

Sorry, last time I checked the Stars were fifth in the Conf with 16 points. Unsure how else you would determine whether a team was "good", but based on Snes math (1967 longer ago than the 1920s) I shouldn't be surprised. Guess you're the one unsure about how "points" work?

Wow, guess I'm buzzkilling on Sensfan's parade this morning after toppling the mighty Panthers! Sorry that you're so sensitive.

Dallas with 6 wins from 12 games for 5th
Flames with 7 wins in 11 games for 6th.
Flames have won 7 times, lost 4.
Phoenix have won 7 times, lost 4
Dallas has won 6 times, lost 6.
Dallas are bigger losers than Flames or Phoenix and have played an extra game. If Flames or Phoenix lose that extra game, they still have more wins, fewer losses than Phoenix.
See the math?
Why you're bringing in 1920/1967 confounds me as neither team has won a Cup going through more than 2 rounds of playoffs (or 1, if the team had a bye). But one team has at least made a go of it.

Oh, and that it took Toronto 5 power play goals to beat Anaheim is not impressive.
That Ottawa held off 6 power plays, three consecutive, is.

Speaking of Florida, I actually thought the Panthers were going to be a lot better than they have been so far this season. They have a nice mix of talent there.
Lots of hockey to be played...

Actually having good special teams is impressive. Leafs have the PP figured out while the SEns don't at all. Flip those fortunes for the PK and I don't see how you're on here bragging about special teams? Sens PP is brutal, the Leafs PK is brutal. I think being top 10 in BOTH is what a GM would like to see and consider successful.

Kuba is back and they're rotating Alfie to right point on occasion. The PP is going to turn around. Only once chance to try it last night: 100% effective

THM, all I'm saying is that they went into a road barn of a good team and got a point out of it. Don't know why you're criticizing that Dallas is a top team in the west right now because the standings clearly show that they are.
I was using that as a response to your math shot. It's over-used, I apologize. I hate when people recycle leaf shots at me. My bad.
Are the Panthers are missing J-Bo more than they thought?
