I figured I'd be reasonable. I was at the game and the Sens fans gave the usual "it's all Gerber's fault", "fuck the refs", etc...
The truth is the Leafs played a better game than the Sens and deserved to win. It's that simple. They've brought their A game to the rink every game but one this season against Ottawa and are 4-2-1 because of it.
It just sucks for the Leaf players because after all this hard work over the weekend, they are still 12th place in the Conference with one extra game played than some teams.
I don't know what happened to my Sens during Paddock's tenure, but I don't think they can turn this ship around this season. All I can really hope for is entertaining hockey down the stretch and in the playoffs, and I got it tonight.
Imagine how good and exciting the leafs would be if they had of traded Sundin and Tucker.

Well folks, I was away this weekend, I'm now engaged! I still managed to catch most of the Sens/Leafs game, what a great 3rd period. Ottawa were hitting the shit out of Toronto in the first, Leafs looked bagged from their Buffalo game, but they came together. I loved the hit by Kronwall, and Tlusty's goal was beauty!
Toskala was the difference, has been since December. Sundin and Devereaux back Tuesday, Antropov in another week. If these fuckers can pull it off, look out whoever faces them in the playoffs.

One question from last nights game: How on earth was Volchenkov's hit on Foster not interference? Foster chips the puck in, it's 15 feet ahead of him in the zone and Volchenkov smears him?
Maybe I'm missing something, but last I checked you can't even hold up a player who's shot the puck in, let alone take his head off.
ANyway, wondering if anybody else saw it this way...
Also, big props to Wellwood who has been taking advantage of his increased ice time and finally looks back to last years form.

Good game by the Leafs. With every goal Tucker scores, it becomes harder for the Leafs to send him to the minors (he's outscoring Blake, isn't he?). More and more Leaf fans are agreeing with Cherry, that the only problem with Tucker is that they didn't give him enough ice time. I say put him on the top line next year and he'll score 40.
With every win, it becomes harder to fire Maurice in the offseason. Clearly it was all JFJ's fault, because as soon as he was out of the picture, this team turned it around.
Or is even that accurate? After all, Kubina is playing great, and is looking like he's worth $5M a year. Can't risk trading him during the off-season window, either. The rest of the guys JFJ assembled have clearly shown they can be a top team in the NHL, as they have been the last few weeks.
In fact, maybe the right move is get JFJ back. He clearly built a contender here, and one that would go all the way if not for some early season bad luck with injury and some bad reffing along the way that is keeping them a few points out of the playoffs.
But regardless who is GM, for sure the Leafs don't need a big-name guy like Sundin. After all, they clearly play better without him.
Darcy Tucker isn't playing hurt anymore. He's still a monster.
