Geez, you love raining on their parade don't you?
They won. They played a good game and their PP was clicking. Gustavsson's (sp?) save is wrong. It's just as wrong as those who dimished Leclaire's great save on Tavares with "well, he didn't get all of the shot".
This is coming from a goalie...I'd wager a decent percentage of our saves come from a combination of sheer luck and instinct. But that doesn't take away from the fact that Jonas was in the right position to make that save.
And I understand you're not so much mocking the Leafs as the media that surrounds it but just let them have this one. You know if they lose to Dallas tonight, it will be back to sh!tting on them. Let Leaf fans enjoy this.
Yes, people are probably way more excited about the win than they should be but that's what happens when your team loses 8 straight games. Monday felt like Christmas.
Also, have you considered that people were excited about Gustavsson before this win? We've be been excited about him since his unbelievable season last year in Europe and his decision to join the Leafs instead of the 26 other teams who wanted him (including yours). We were excited about his play in the pre-season, we liked how he handled the twine vs the Sens and we loved him shutting the door against the Ducks in some critical moments like the save people keep talking about.
In 6 hours is the next test. Like Dutch Treat says the Leafs could be right back where you like them. In the losing column.
If not though, expect more of the same.
Just noticed that the Leafs are on TSN while the Sens are on TSN2. Is this what's got your underwear in a knot THM?
I actually prefer to watch games on TSN2 as it is more about sports than Toronto homerism.
Fair enough. I would hate to hear about the Sens every day on all the networks.
As it stands I barely catch any Sens news through traditional media. That's why I have you THM!
