This has been a newsworthy day to say the least. Heatley out of Ottawa, Balsille by all accounts winning this case today (Judge is attacking NHL as we speak)...

The good news is that Heatley will fetch a nice group of players. I imagine Sens fans would prefer it was Spezza who was moved, but Ottawa need new blood. This sucks if this happens, Ottawa might get better!

I don't like this. It's unprofessional, and whoever leaked it has just cost the Sens a significant portion of a significant asset.

And if DH had anything to do with it, then good riddance. If not, then good luck to ya.

I'm for Spezz sticking it out here as well if Heately goes. I loved the Pizza line when it was functional, but I think Heatly made Spezza less accountable.

Maybe it's time for Spezz to really start to fit the Yzerman comparisons that Gee has put forward in previous posts. Heatly may have been a bar to that.

Whatever the case, it is too bad if Heatly does want to leave as he has thus far had several great seasons.

Imagine if that money had been spent on Chara instead....

I like Spezza way more than Heatley. Always have. No doubt Spezza needs to be more consistent and be less stupid sometimes but he is a wonderful player when everything is going good.

We all see the turnovers and watch him take the blame when the goalie can't stop a slapper from the blue line.

I see him sliding to block a shot to protect a 1 goal lead late in a meaningless March game against a another team that is not going to the playoffs.

Another reason I like Spezza more. He has way thicker skin than Heatley.

Oh, and while Heatley decided his future, you may be happy to know that Balsille is killing it in court. NHL just got off the stand with their heads beat in. Bettman sitting in the audience has been described as looking stoic. It's a thing of beauty.
