Kassian has been rumoured to be on Burke's wish list but not at #7. I find it pathetic that any tough player is linked to Burke, but the guys did clearly state he likes tough players so I guess it's not that tough of a rumour to throw together.
It bugs the shit out of me that Ellis is ranked so low because of his size. Ian White was one of Toronto's best defenders (in his own end), and he's 5'10". With the new rules in place positioning can go a long way and the way Ellis runs a PP is probably worth even a just good own zone game.
Any idea what time the draft starts on Friday?

I don't care what anybody says about Eklund. He provides hours of entertainment and he even gets a few of them right.
His latest: Gustavsson will be a Leaf for certain, and the Sens and Boston are in talks about a trade that includes Kessel and Heatley.
Where he gets this stuff is beyond me, but it sure is fun to read.
Yesterday it was the Rangers, in a deal involving Drury. That would be awful, IMO. Sure the guy is known for scoring clutch goals, its just that he's way overpaid and doesn't score often enough.
Now Eklund says Kessel to Anaheim or Minnesota as part of a 3-way deal. I would have preferred Kessel coming to Ottawa.
I still like Vlassic, Michalek and a pick. Or Frolov, Quincey, and LA's first pick.
I'd also be happy with Svatos, Wolski, and Colorado's first pick.

Dany Heatley (Ottawa Senators) - He's a pure scorer, and you need to have that. His skating can always get better, and he'd be the first person to acknowledge that. I'd be shocked if he's not on the team. The only way he's not on the team is if he completely falls apart in the early part of the season.
Maybe he was upset that Clouston acknowledged it before he got the chance himself?
Jay Boumeester is apparently heading to Vancouver now, according to Eklund. It amazes me that people continue to discount his desire to play the UFA market straight up. Why would he agree to anything before July 1st? Even if he wanted to go to Vancouver, why weaken his new team (them having to trade a pick or player for negotiating rights) when he could just sign there in less than a week?
Plus, he'll be a Leaf anyway. Right?
Regardless of what happens, this will be the most exciting first hour of the draft ever. Some shit is gonna go down!

Chicago is like Toronto, but with culture, hot women, magnificient buildings and a general openess to the external world. So not really like Toronto at all.
Bloody fantastic place, for sure, though. Hotdogs you could eat twice because they'd retain their flavour, the Chicago Hilton made the Royal York look like a Motel 8. Live blues/jazz coming out of every club imaginable. I swore Oscar P. was being channeled by the hotel piano player.
Cub/Indians game was the highlight - some fun words exchanged over the Blackhawks, though. General agreement on the shittiness of the Leafs made good friends.
Hard task for Ottawa. Heatly put them down.
