I'm not sure if his theory will hold true, but as I type this I realize that I'm driving a 7 year old Ford truck and thinking it's going to last me at least another 5 before I have to replace it. That and the cost of new cars, has kept me from buying. But I think the majority of car buyers will still stick with their past pattern of 3-5 year cycles. Especially considering the number of people who lease and finance.

Then again, all those off lease vehicles are probably stealing new car sales??
