Gravatar I can't wait to hear what she sings about artichokes.

Gravatar Here's one from our records: a story my then 3-year-old was writing about the apples she was eating . . . "And the apple was happy to be in my stomach with his chewed-up friends".

Gravatar Jordan, I hope that if Julia reaches that point, she chooses "joke" or "bloke" as a rhyme, not "toke."

Mnmom, that's a great line. I like that your three-year-old was writing stories about apples. And that she had a good attitude toward her foodstuffs. The other day, Julia wondered idly where chicken (the meat) comes from, and I told her that it come from chickens (the animals). A few questions later, it emerged that we (humans) have to kill the chickens in order to eat them, and that the same is true of all meat. Julia looked at me incredulously, then smiled, and said something like, "At least they taste good!"

Gravatar Holy Cow!!!
My child responded to that same line of reasoning about beef by saying cows are yummy. I LOVE how children's minds work. Make sure you write it all down!!
