Lincoln's back in the news, as Call To Action is vowing another offensive. Some people just refuse to become Episcopalians, even when they give every doctrinal sign of being one.

I am 77 and have been a regular churchgoer all this time. I live in NY upstate. Reading about Bruskewitz takes me back to the 1940s and the postwar era when a muscular, brick and mortar Catholicism began to assert itself. Love and reason became subservient to the absolute power and creeping infallibility of the episcopacy. The era of pray, pay and obey was taking hold. Please, before you get angry, give me one instance of Fabian engaged in true dialogue with the faithful. How can he be so out-of-sync with the times. The church is ever-changing and unchanged. How can he defend the idea that he alone knows all truth and is privileged to hurl canonical thunderbolts at offenders?

God has blessed you with an unequivocally faithful shepherd. Would that this blessing could/would be present throughout the entire Universal Church

More news in Lincoln, Call to Action's at it again. They're still trying to defame/slander Bp. Bruskewitz, as if that will remit their excommunications.

I for one fail to see justification in the admiration that this man receives. By denying an audit of potential abuse in his diocese he is only furthering the chance for sexual misconduct to occur. It would seem that allowing the audit is in no way admitting fault or the possibillity of abuse, but rather insuring that there is not a possiblity for such actions. How can it be that people are more enamored with the supposed correlation between no altar girls and more priests and the absolute correlation between denying the audit and a chance (stress, chance) on abuse. While I am not Catholic, my father and extended family are, I therefore respect their faith and others that share it. A respect of others that I feel Father Bruskewitz lacks.

What a wonderful shepard, his protoge Bishop Olmsted is doing a wonderful job in Phoenix along with Bishop Vasa in Baker Oregon, We need more Bishop Bruskewitz type leaders in the church. I know I am the last of an old guard in my home diocese. I hate female altar servers. We have a priest that actually banned them in his current assignment. Fr. Jim Statz will not even consider female altar servers in his parishes, so at least there is some hope one parish at a time.

Bp. Fabian is a blessing to all of you in Lincoln. I wish we had someone like him here. I pray that it happens. I know that when I become ordained, no altar girls, no Communion in the hand for sure
