All my good thoughts are heading your way Bill. Take care of your wife and daughter and take care of yourself. You're right – it's not the way you want it to happen. But once your wife is fully recovered, and especially once your daughter (name yet?) is off the respirator you'll realize that this was the happiest day of your life, just in disguise.

I can only imagine what it's like for you now, but what I've seen agrees with your assessment that the abruption was very likely very partial and Sofia wes receivinge adequate oxygen. My Mom's 25 years experience on Little Company's maternity wards are available to you as well if you can'r find the answers to your questions elsewhere. In speaking with her yesterday she reiterated that if you're wife's bleeding was not excessive the abruption may well have been minor. She also suggested that since the previa did not show in the latest sonogram that there may not have been much cervical obstruction, if any.

Enjoy fatherhood, Mr Bill. Best thing that ever happened to me - I have a 2.5 y.o. boy and he rocks! (pretty much around the clock as well though... make sure you teach yours to sleep asap - only unsolicited advice I will ever offer)
