Maybe it was a trial balloon? Or maybe they got caught and went into denial mode. I think their attitude is to erode American values from the inside and they have time on their side.
That is why reforming education is anathema. They don't want to end the gov't monopsony on providing education because it would hinder the leftist agenda.
