I wish we had used overwhelming force. Wars need to be fought to win. You need to do everything you can to win, and not a bit more -- because it's the bit more that's excessive. We, however, are so afraid of excess (as was Israel) that we stop ourselves short of any possibility of winning. And that leads to much more death and destruction in the long run.
