I love how everything is the presidents fault. I am not saying I am for or against the president but I find it funny that every wrong in the world be it man made or that of mother nature is his fault.
On a side note, back in November I saw Aeromith perform at the Old Coral Sky Theater. Before they came out they played pieces of this video on the large screens. This was Aerosmiths intro before they hit the stage. That will be the last time I go and see the Tyler/Perry act supported by those other guys who were once part of the band.
My two cents

Forgot one more thing..
"David Havens, an ordained minister, is also meeting with area churches, since the couple believes the environment is a moral issue."
In St. Lucie County there are more churches than CVS stores being built. Let's start by having congregations merge. Think about it, instead of mowing down all of them beautiful trees that are great for the environment. Hmm....

If Mr. Havens is an ordained minister, he should be looking to the Bible for his message, not to some fictional movie full of lies and mistruths.
God made the earth and He will take care of Hid creation.
This "global warming" is like evolution. It's a theroy and not a fact. There is just as many, maybe more scientist that teach against "global warming" as there are that teach that it is a fact.
Like Mr. Brown says, Get all the facts.

Nothing about Gore's movie suggests your beloved president is at fault. But ignoring issues that are not profitably enough for this administration is complicity.
And let's Dixie Chicks Aerosmith! How dare they have an opinion! They're a rock band!! And when did rock bands become mainstream anyway??

If you really want to stop "Global Warming" they could start by demanding an end to all the hot air that Politicians emit every hour.
As for this couple, it's great that there lives were so empty and meaningless until they saw a propaganda movie and were lectured by their new hero and ManGod Al Gore.
Now they finally have a purpose in life.
Until they figure out a way to get Humans to completely stop multiplying, get China and India to stop burning coal, and to keep Volcanoes from erupting, Ocean floor Methane deposits from bubbling up and Cows from farting then changing to fluorscent bulbs and driving a hybrid will accomplish nothing but give all you hippies a warm fuzzy feeling.
If you notice in his movie (which I have seen) Al Gore is always flying around in a plane to Greenland, Antarctica, etc.
Imagine all of the CO2 he created just by flying all over the World to make a movie. He rides in a Limo too and it's NOT a hybrid.
He's a snake oil salesman, a hypocrite and he is terribly annoying.

Mars is warming also and there isn't a capitalist pig to be found anywhere on that planet.
The earth has warmed and cooled many times over the centuries. Look into the science and you'll find many naturally occuring cycles. 22,000 year methane gas peaks, 8,000 year sun energy fluctuations, volcanos that spew out 10 times the green house gases that man has made since his existance. Look at the global warming hype and you'll see charts showing temperatures or co2 levels for the last 100 years or so.
Yes the earth is in a warming trend. It is the heighth of arrogance to think that man can alter that pattern either up or down. We will do what we have always done, we will adapt. Florida was underwater many times in the past and it will be underwater again in the future. Maybe they should have kept that boat. LOL

Arrogant or ignorant, not sure which best describes your comment, David. Most people would consider it very feasible for 8 billion humans to alter the atmosphere. Remember when we were destroying the ozone layer. It's a proven correlation.

If you look into the ulterior motives of the people who want to ram global warming down all our throats you will find these facts to be true.
They support a one world government administered by the U.N.
They detest capitalism and free markets and they want to see this world government enforce a form of international socialism.
They want more government control of private business and industry.
They want a reduction of individual rights for the good of the "World".
The only way they can achieve these goals is to scare people into marching lockstep along with this plan. The theory of "Manmade" global warming is their foot in an otherwise closed door.
Like "Global Warming" I read all these "facts" on the internet and I believe it with all my heart so it must be true.

What a bunch of stupid republican idiots! Regardless of what you believe concerning Global Warming and whether the current weather changes are the result of greenhouse gases, how can you not agree that reducing our dependency on fossil fuels would be a good thing?
Even you idiots can't deny the pollution that is caused by our factories and cars, just look at the air quality in cities like LA. Do you deny the pollution that you can see with you naked eyes hasn't been caused by burning fossil fuels?
What would be the downside to reducing our dependency on foreign oil by trying to develop clean, renewable energy? There is none! It creates jobs in the US! The only people who get hurt are the shareholder's for oil companies and foreign oil suppliers!
Instead of using common sense, you'd rather make this a political issue of republican's vs democrats. The fact that you even think in this manner clearly demonstrates your closed minded ignorance. How could you put your political affiliations ahead of the future of your children?
Pollution is undeniable and is a real problem. Dependency on foreign oil is risky to America due to Geo-political risks; there is no argument to these statements or did you forget when gasoline hit $3.50 a gallon last year?
I say it again, whether or not you believe in global warming, how can you deny that reducing our dependency on foreign oil and developing clean renewable energy is a bad thing?
Even your precious moron "WB acknowledges that fact!

Even the current administration admits that opening up Alaska for oil drilling and exploration will not meet future energy demand for the US or the rest of the world for that matter.
So how does this solve our energy problem? It is only a bandaid prolonging the inevitable. Anyone with a remote amount of common sense must agree that other forms of energy must be developed. Oil is not a inexhaustible resource. As China, India and other countries evolve to industrial societies, the demand for oil will increase dramatically. Where is all this oil going to come from?

Do you see the word fact or theory in there? Before you try to argue about science, you might consider understanding what it means first instead of supplying your own incorrect interpretation.

I stand by my insults if an individual is taking a position on this issue based on whether they are a republican or a democrat.
By the way, I thought Ronald Regan and Bill Clinton were both good presidents.
Look at it this way, if Gore is right and we do nothng, Florida may be under water. If Gore is wrong and we do something, we have cleaner air, water, etc.
I say it again, what is the harm in moving towards cleaner renewable energy other than to the oil company shareholders? The argument is that our companies can't compete due to the costs associated with reducing emissions. Well, these are one time costs that can be written off on a balance sheet. Anyone who has been following the markets knows that labor costs are the main threat to American companies as Microsoft, Intel, Dell, etc move to cheap labor in developing countries in both manufacturing, engineering, and IT.

Good points and John, Reagan and Clinton were both horrible presidents. In fact I would go so far as to say every president since McKinley was just a talking head for the special intereast groups. Al Gore included. He is just another political street walker looking for a cause to keep his name in the spotlight. If he was a real tree hugger, he would have urged his president and the Senate he was supposed to "lead" to sign the Kyoto Accord, which is an agreement to reduce fossil fuel consumption! Isnt that an inconvient truth AL?
And it is a Democrat Republican issue anyway, because the narrow mided, bi-polar population cannot see past those two parties. There is a party that says it is us it is up to us as individuals to make this a better place to live, to decentralize our government and start becoming self reliant, green friendly members of this world. It is called the Green Party and both Democrats and Republicans agree not to allow them into the process. Having Nader arressted before he even though he had a ticket to the debate to be in the audience. Oh hevean forbid new ideas get intermixed with the usual:
Republicans - blah blah blah, big money.
Democrats-blah blah blah, the opposite of what he said, evenif it makes no sense either.

Agreed. Iran will run out of oil in approx 10 years. Iraq and Saudi Arabia have lots of oil. Can anyone see a long range plan here ? Venezuela for oil? Chavez has been elected supreme ruler he hates the US but will take our cash through Citgo, which he owns .
re: Ozone hole. Did the whole world stop using freon based aerosols and A/C gas ? Nope.
The LA smog is ozone held in place by a temperature inversion over the valley. It has been there since the indians were sending smoke signals. By the way every bolt of lightning makes a lot of ozone.

Wow, I'm so excited that there are actually people out there that care about our world! I too have seen this video and seen many documentaries regarding global warming and am personally terrified for what the future of this world holds. It's scary to know that most people don't even give this issue a second thought, but it's also scary that I don't know what I can do to contribute to the bettering of our climate. Kudos to the Havens for taking initiative!!!!! Keep up the great work!!!

How in God's name is it possible to get so many ignorant, arrogant, contentfree people in one place?
Without a doubt reading these message boards is a lesson in the need to increase the level of CO2 in the atmosphere until all you useless wastes of oxygen are carrion fodder.
Crawl back into your holes and don't come out again until you can make a useful contribution to the discussion. Damn ignorant ditto heads!

Well, not becuase of my SUV, Go to Lake Wales and look around. You will find shells everywhere. There are maps of Florida dating back to 1528 and it is relatively the same shape but... it was here!
Why was it under water before?

The only thing this issue creates, is more talk and no walk.
Until you actually do something, like don't drive your car one day a week, little will be done by anybody, just more talk.

hey Todd, all of science is most likely. Nothing is 100%. Evolution is most likely the way god created diversity, human activity is most likely the cause of the acceleration of the global warming. This is also probably part of god's plan.

To many posting here with the idea that many have just brush this topic under the rug:
While your fears and concerns are most real...know this, the amount of pollution that we emit from secondary sources (i.e. cars, trucks, mining, etc.) pales in comparison to the amount that we so readily emit primarily (i.e. methane in the form of gasseous emissions from bodily orifices).
So, the only way to get rid of the problem would to be cut our population by at least half. And I am pretty sure we won't be committing genocide for the sake of the planet, or limiting the number of children families can have anytime in the near future. Until that day comes, your plights to those driving SUVs and "not caring about future generations" are really a moot point.

These same greenies predicted a new ice age just 30 years ago. Global warming is controled by nature not man.
How dare you think that we can manipulate weather. We can't get weather forecast correct on the same day let alone predict 50 to 100 years into the future!

I TOTALLY agree with you, Sarah! It makes me SICK to think I live around ARSEHOLES like this, that continue to move here like a disease. I commend the Havens' on their efforts and FULLY support them! Hopefully the idiots that don't care about our earth and don't CARE about what's happening to it will wash out to sea with our next hurricane. If we also want to help out with this Global Warming issue, we need to set a limit on people having children, as NONE of these fools should be allowed to procreate.

Greenies stopped nuclear energy in the 1970's, now they blame everyone but their selves on foreign oil dependance.
These same folks have protested every planned new refinery to be built in the US for the last 30 years, none were built.
These folks protested the use of DDT, millions have died around the world because of their junk science proven to be false.
They predicted Y2K end of the economic world and the coming ice age of the 1970's and you want to follow these folks and their track record???
You cry and say oil is bad for us, yet you want to save it?
You want alternative fuel but complain when gas hits $3 a gallon and an alternative fuel today would cost you somewhere between $9 and $19 a gallon for the same amount of BTU's in a gallon of gas.
All I see here is apartment environmentalists without a clue, in search of a leader, any leader. Please go back to the library and read books regarding global climate and not what the media is feeding you. Global temperature change in the last 100 years is less than 1 degree Fahrenheit. The temperature difference in your homes from floor to ceiling is over 5 degrees Fahrenheit!
I wish all of you global warming alarmists got together and pick someone to represent you in a debate with myself. I have hundreds of hours dedicated on this subject. For every scientist that believes in man made global warming their are five that don't, but the media won't print that since its not news worthy. You folks are sold a bill of goods from shysters with alternative motives and agendas.

The energy output of the Sun is far greater in one second than human activity could produce in a million years.
The elimination of all U.S. gasoline powered vehicles would reduce worldwide greenhouse emissions by less than 0.2%. What would be the effect on global mean temperatures? None.

I applaud these people, instead of sticking their heads in the sand and leaving the mess for YOUR children, they are attempting to do something about it before they are gone. That is a great legacy.

My hats off to them for taking a stand. If more people would wake up and realize that we and human beings dont have all the answers but we all can do something about these issues. I for one am amazed at how few people recycle trash. These families with children (not offending the few that do) but so many around me with children do nothing. We all gobble up resources and toss things out without a care. Family structure and concerns are pathetic these days. Its too much trouble for people to care and make some sort of effort. We all can do many things to help our enviroment. Giving back and helping educate is key. I wish I had all the answers but as one person I realize how important these matters are. I hope more people will wake up and see that in a very short period of time mankind has managed to create allot of damage in its pursuit of progress.
