Gravatar You can't really blame Arcudi for Atlantis travesty. Joe Kelly and Rick Veitch totally screwed that up. I think his doing pretty well with the crap they left behind. He could have easily been like Will Pfiefer and said "I'm not touching that!"
With Vulko he seems pretty friendly to Orin compared to in PAD's run where he conspired with Koryak to get him off the throne.
The art on the other hand is sliding! It looks like he needs a break! Oh no, his working on Green Lantern Corps!
Martian Manhunter behavior is pretty wierd, but he is also acting wierd in Countdown too! Where are Aquaman's friends? Its like Arcudi is trying give Aquaman no option but to go to that reporter girl for help. It doesn't matter if it makes sense or not.
I thought it was wierd that Arthur will go for help at all. Has he ever gone for help in the past? He never asked the League for help! I think its bit out of character.
I don't know what to really think. I don't want this book to fail, because I need a Aquaman fix every month and you can't really rely on JLA. I also don't want this book to fail because who nows how the next person with reimagine Aquaman, we might get another Rick Veitch. Aquaman has become the new Hawkman with a history that makes no sense. Who would you put on Aquaman if you could choose a creative team?

Gravatar Can't say much about JLA its fun and all, but I'm getting sick of the lazy editing. C'mon how many issues have they got Aquaman's costume wrong and the editor hasn't done a thing. Other then that Kurt Busiek writing is great, I loved seeing Black Canary, Ollie and Hawkman back in the JLA. Did forget to say I love Red Tornado, too bad Kurt Busiek is leaving JLA, he seemed to have big plans for him and the JLA.
I don't usually get Birds of Prey, but I got the latest issue cause Wildcat was in it! What is the hype with this book? Its nothing special as you say, I might try some more issues but I'm disgusted with the art. The T&A is unforgiveable, I thought things will improve with Ed Benes leaving, but this is more of the shameless artwork.
I don't usually read Titans, but with Tempest being in this issue I was thinking of picking it up. Now his flying! Is his character that boring that they have to give him more and more powers to make him insteresting, I miss Aqualad!
Thanks for listening, I probably talked abit too much sorry!

Gravatar Hey, thanks for the kind review, Laura! The story was of course, inspired by all the Pooh stuff I trip over in my daughter's room.

Gravatar So now that Spider-Man is living with the Avengers with his wife and Aunt May, everyone knows he's Spider-Man?

I would think that would be the likely connection if any of his enemies were paying even the slightest bit of attention.

Gravatar Re: Aquaman- I was also really disappointed with the latest issue. Over the last year, the comic was quickly becoming one of my favorites. Then.....this. Between this issue and Countdown, I'm wondering when J'onn became such an ass.

Re: Solo- I missed Solo!? Damn!

Gravatar Although I didn't hate it, I was still pretty disappointed by this Aquaman issue, too. Ol' Fishface throwing down against Superman, with a MOST intriguing cover? Talk about a story that could really put Arthur on the map in a lot of non-fans' minds, as well as give us Aquafans something to crow about.

Instead, we get an out-of-character Martian Manhunter deceiving, backhanding and then lecturing Aquaman. IN AQUAMAN'S OWN BOOK. And then what little forward progression is made in the issue gets put on hold for the next two months thanks to DC's axing of "Amazons Attack," the Countdown mini that Aquaman was *supposed* to tie-in to.

Will the indignities upon our hero never cease? And if they do, will it be only because his book's been cancelled?
