Gravatar Hey Laura-- While looking through issues of my work that just came out, I remembered that I had put a reference to you in my Where Monsters Dwell story, and completely forgot to alert you. So there, you'll have to buy a Marvel comic to figure out what it is. Hah!

Gravatar The anti-smoking initiates in NY have worked quite well. They ARE enforced. There are site exceptions that can be applied for.

Gravatar Jeff: Um... ok. I'll have to look for it. Where Monsters Dwell, huh? Hmmm.

Roger: The problem with the Washington State anti-smoking init is that it specifies that smokers must be 25 feet from ANY opening in a building to smoke. This is the part that a lot of folks, including me, balked at, and I suspect that if anything, people aren't going to be forced that far away.

Out of the doorways, yes. A few feet away, yes. 25 feet? That's clear across the parking lot... and would make it illegal to smoke in most places in downtown Seattle. I suspect that even people who hate cigarette smoke, like me, will look the other way if people aren't the full 25 feet away.

On the other hand, this will open up a few places for people like me, who hate smoke. As my hubby-Eric said, he likes bowling and would go to a bowling alley every once in awhile if every single bowling alley he's ever been in didn't smell like an ashtray. I'm right there with him on that one. There are a number of businesses I'd be willing to visit once the smoke has cleared. Literally.

Gravatar Re: Bunny Suicides...

Stephen (my older son) found the Bunny Suicide books at Drexel University's bookstore last fall -- the first thing he did when he hopped in the car after I picked him up from the train station for Thanksgiving break was to toss them to me.

I *heart* them.

But an FYI -- the site you've got linked isn't an official Bunny Suicides site -- it's apparently a German fan who is putting pages from the books up without the author's permission. AFAIK, Bunny Suicides aren't presented in webcomix format by the author.
