I go to the movies about once a week or so and I have to agree with your list. Cell phone jamming is the least of our worries in Aussie cinemas. I so very rarely hear a cell phone go off during a movie. However, because of the price of the movie tickets and the concessions, we almost never buy the concessions. The movie ticket is al we can afford.
I'm short so stadium seating is something i can definitely apreciate. I only go to cinemas that have stadium seating.
Toilets that are too far away and volumes that are set way too high are definitely issues for us as well.
We used to be able to time our arival so that we'd miss the adds but catch the trailers. Then the cinema people got sneaky about it and now they slot the adds in between the trailers so you can't even skip them if you want to watch the trailers.
While I am, on general principles, not opposed to jamming cell phones, I agree that there are a lot higher priorities theaters need to have. But I also wonder about the rare-but-necessary cases of someone being on call, and needing to be in touch with someone or something no matter where they are. What if a doctor on call went to see a movie, then he or she couldn't be reached even by pager because of jamming? Or a babysitter who needs to tell the parents about an emergency at home? Frankly, I'd rather not have jamming in those cases. Let's get the ushers in instead to deal with the constant gabbers — if we had any ushers, that is...
But the most annoying to me is the fact that the volume is way too loud! Why do they do that? It can be unbearable at times. I'm surprised that the noise level is even legal.
There's going to be a lot of deaf people in the future.
If I decide to go to the theatre, I try to remember to bring some earplugs so that it is more bearable to watch it.
Of course, I never usually buy at the concession. I always buy at a nearby drugstore- the drugstore people are used to seeing people from theatre buying their candy there- and sneaking it into the theatre.
Well, actually once I went to the concession because I was really hungry..bought small popcorn and a drink- $9.00 Canadian!!!!!
One of the things that annoys me to no end has to be the lack of rotation on the ads and the trailers. I hate the ads as much as everyone else, but if I'm going to be forced to watch them for the love of god, at least change them or rotate them... Any way, good points all around. I have to say that I'm thankful for the theater that I have close by (here in brisbane), as they are quite cheap and extremely well kept... shame for the theatre goers.... I mean why would you take a five year old to see memoirs of a geisha...
and please, oh stop with the piracy ads, I'm already in the theater watching it...
