It totally sucks that it's iTunes. I have it installed on my PC but I refuse to buy an iPod. I have the Creative Zen Vision:M so I won't be able to watch it anywhere other than my PC. I'm going to buy it twice! Once for work and once for home. If anyone knows how to convert this file, I would appreciate it.
Isn't it a shame that the companies think so little of their audience that they make the products they sell worthless for anything but the most narrow of uses?
Jim Baen, Rest in Peace, believed that people would rather be honest than dishonest and put no restrictions at all on the books he sold on-line. He made a lot of money and a lot of loyal fans from it. I wish more companies thought like Jim. Trust the customers instead of treating them all like thieves.
I hate DRM, but I'll ask my husband to buy it on his Apple anyway. At least I'll get to see it once, even if I can't use it on my own computer.
I've done some checking into conversion of iTunes video. A conversion for personal use only would be legal... although the DRM-makers don't want you to think that.
Unfortunately, nobody has broken the DRM on iTunes video yet. So those of us who cannot run iTunes on our computers have been shut out.
Gee, thanks a lot Apple/WB/CW. By assuming that I'm a thief, you made it impossible for me to get a legal copy of a show I really want.
Let's hope it comes out in another legal format that isn't so completely screwed up by onerous DRM, so we can actually just watch it instead of having to jump through hoops first.
I have an i-tunes account and would have gladly paid $2US to watch the episode but the account is limited to the Australian i-tunes store which doesn't list US TV shows.
Even when you try to do things legally they make it near impossible to do so... is it any wonder why other means seem attactrive?
