Dear Laura,
I hope this is not too "braggy," but it seemed to be sort of crying out for mention... at least from my own sad viewpoint. Guess what? Your Seattle University bookstore just "blogged" about me on their "blog" the other day: http://universitybookstore.blogs...o-
shelving.html
I couldn't help but wonder, as I know absolutely no one in the area (except you, of course, through my devotion to your blog) if you had something to do with it! Well...?
Nope, nothing to do with me. Although I've met Duane a couple of time before, he's the Science Fiction/Fantasy coordinator, and I don't know him well enough to chat with him about people who comment on my blog. I don't know if anyone from that weblog reads my blog, but I tend to doubt it. No, it's your own fame that got you there, not me.
And now they've got a post up about Tom Bissell, who was "outed" as an Aquaman fan on my "blog" a long time ago. COINCIDENCE? Or is it just the spirit of Aquaman drawing us all together?
It's a small world...I used to work with Tom Bissell. An amazing guy.
And the University Bookstore Seattle is one of the better academic bookstores in the country, and I'm glad to see it does great trade events. My heart still places Chicago's Seminary Co-op (Hi, Jack!) in first place, but Seattle is waaaay up there.
Dear Mr. Bully, is that "Hi, Jack!" meant for me? If so, hello back to you, sir! But I do not believe I have ever been to the Seminary Co-Op. I have been in Chicago, though... mostly at a bar called The Hideout (http://jackpendarvis.blogspot.com/2006/12/two-
more-chances.html). Do you know it? Well, I'm just trying to keep this chain of coincidences going.
Whoops, sorry, Mister P...the "Hi, Jack" is actually meant for Jack Cella, a good friend who runs the Seminary Co-op in Chicago. But let me take the opportunity to say "Hi, Jack," to you, too!
