I thought that Aquaman's appearance in this story arc was really pretty great. Not only is he shown to be consistently strong, but he actually fares the best against that guy of any of the Leaguers. Supes and WW each get slapped down, like instantly, while Arthur takes the guy underwater and beats the tar out of him for five minutes straight....yeah, he loses, but that's only right.

It's just been such a surprise to see Aquaman drawn by Byrne! I'm trying to remember anytime in his long career that he's illustrated our King of the Sea before this, and all I can recall is way back from Superman #12 (1987) --- a brief cameo in the story of Superman meeting Lori Lemaris.
