Have I read the story? What do I think? I'll tell you what I think! I freaking love this story. This is a prime example of why I love pre-king of Atlantis Aquaman. As goofy as it seems, his internal dialog with the narration (and an occasional land-dweller in most stories) is enough to be a great self contained short story complete with tension and "awww" inspiring moments.
