Gravatar Hi,
My name is David Johnson and I was trying to find out what in which issue of Aquaman did his son get killed by the Black Manta. I think I used to have it as a kid but I can't even remember what the cover looked like.
Thank you
David Johnson

Gravatar Arthur Jr, Aquababy, is fatally wounded in Adventure Comics #452. He doesn't actually die until a few issues later, in Aquaman #62, after Mera goes on a quest in an attempt to save him.

I'm still overhauling the site, but the Cover Gallery might spark some memories.

Gravatar I would love to see others comments on favorite Aquaman stories, personally I enjoyed a lot of the back-up stories in Action Comics in the early 80's. But, my favotite Aquaman apperances are probably the issues where he appears as he should, royalty. Not with a crown or robes, but with the respect that he is due from others... Thanks for a great websire.

Gravatar Hey, just wanted to say keep up the good work on the site. ^_^

Gravatar Thanks for mentioning our Aquaman song on your page! I wanted to let you and everyone know that they can listen to the full version of the song on our MySpace page Here

It's still the rough pre-mixed version. The final mastered version will be ready in a couple of weeks.

Love your site!

Gravatar Hi,

Just wanted to thankyou for linking to my blog! You have a great site, I had a lot of fun surfing around here.

Nautica7mk contributed...

Gravatar Hiya. I've become a frequent attendee of your site. I've recently become familiar with Aquaman through *gasp* Smallville, believe it or not. I'll also be picking up Issue #40 once it's out. And in case you may want it, I've scanned Alan Ritchson's interview on Smallville Magazine #12 HERE. Scroll to the bottom. I've also read a couple of sides about the new live-action show. So far, I'm not overly impressed, but what I got wasn't exactly much so I can't really judge it legitimately. Keep up the good work.

Thanks

Gravatar Lance: Paul Norris did the first 10 Aquaman stories and created the look of Aquaman. He was the designer of the character. He did the Aquaman stories in More Fun #73-81 and World's Finest #6.

Gravatar Hello!

What to you think about the rumours about James Cameron making the Aquaman movie? I read somewhere that the fake news about this have made the director to actually consider this.
Have you got some director and actor for this in mind?

Take Care
Patrick

Laura Gjovaag contributed...

Gravatar There won't be a movie as long as the series is in production. So watch what happens to Mercy Reef before even considering the possibility that a movie will be made.

As for the rumors... they seem to be more wishful thinking than anything real. Cameron's Aquaman movie exists only in the Entourage Universe.

Patrick Seaberg contributed...

Gravatar Well, I think the movie will be made in a couple of years... probably 2009 or 2010.... all depending on how Mercy Reef will go.

Gravatar Laura: I attended the Tribute to Paul Norris in Fremont, and I've posted a 10-minute video to my website with a ton of pictures and narration. I can supply you with a DVD version, if you'd like, and I'd be glad to pass along some of the still photos as well. Drop me an email.

Gravatar There is a fantastic song called "Aquaman." Go to www.grandpagriffith.com and listen to it. It is on their newest CD. It is an excellent song and could be a #1 hit if it could get the airplay. Everyone should buy the CD and support this orginal group. Thanks,

Gravatar I don't think you should really worry about the Aquaman TV series with the upcoming new network. I saw the pilot this week, and although it kinda sucked, it will most likely air. It has money potential for The WB Television division since it's one of their productins airing on an affiliated network. The CW holds it's UpFront on May 18th and then you'll know if Ms. Ostroff goes for the money stroke.

Gravatar Hello there,
This is my first time on the site, but I'd like to report that this past week I was in Hollywood, CA for the Visual Effects Society Festival (VES), and I had a chance to speak with the Smallville visual effects crew, Entity FX. They did the work on the Aquaman pilot. I asked them how they felt about the situation and they were all pretty bummed-out. However, one of them announced that the Aquaman pilot will available soon for download on iTunes! I don't recall exactly when she said (I was holding a microphone in front of the packed Egyptian theater so I was a bit nervous), but I believe she said in the next month or so. Good news I suppose!

Gravatar Hiya Boba,

My guess is that this is the announcement they plan on making, and that she probably shouldn't have let the cat out of the bag yet! But it's good to hear. Hopefully the quality will be high enough to enjoy.

Thanks for the tip!

Gravatar I Don't know if it's been mentioned on the site yet, but Inheritance comes out today. It's a book by Devin Grayson. Characters featured are Batman, Green Arrow, Aquaman and their former sidekicks squaring off against Slade Wilson. Like I say, I don't know if it's shown up on here, but for all of us Aquaman completists we may have to spend more that 20 minutes reading. Grayson's comic stuff is pretty cool so I for one will give it a chance.

Gravatar I just watched the pilot episode of Aquaman on iTunes. Fantastic but I understand the show isn't going to be shown at all on t.v.?

ARM(quaman) contributed...

Gravatar Tegan, allow me to be the first to break the huuge news on the video game front. It was just uncovered in Game Informer magazine that Aquaman will be part of the new Justice League Heroes game for XBOX, PSP, and PS2.

Originally it was only slated for:

-Wonder Woman
-Superman
-Martian Manhunter
-Batman
-Flash
-Green Lantern (John Stewart)
-and oddly Zatanna (well better than dopey Hawkgirl
)

Fans poured in requests for more playable DC/JLA characters to compete with Marvel Ulitmate Alliance which featured well over 20 playables and hundreds of cameos.

So D.C. with an incomplete game was able to add before release a confirmed Green Arrow, a somewhat confirmed Captain Marvel/SHAZAM, and now most officially confirmed AQUAMAN as Phieffer/Arcudi's water hand version in the article I will show you. As to others like Black Canary, Atom, or Hawkman showing up I'm not sure.

But here's the article I just scanned and you should post all this.

ENJOY!

ARM(quaman) contributed...

Gravatar (Tegan I just posted it on D.C.'s official board and rewrote a few things to make it more editorial and girthier. Take from both of my posts of and craft an announcement from them to save you the time of having to write it again yourself)

AQUAMAN(our Orin/AC) in new JL HEROES game for XBOX and PS2!

Allow me to be the one to pull arthuecurry2 out of his Aqua-melancholoy with some great effin Aqua-news!

D.C/Snowblind/WB and Justice League Heroes has just announced AQUAMAN--OUR Orin/Arthur Curry Aquaman will be a playable character (probably unlockable) in this Fall's upcoming Justice League Heroes game for XBOX/PS2/PSP. The version of Aquaman will be the most powerful one to date the block-lifting water-hand Phieffer/Arcudi version with FULL water-hand capabilities. GREAT CHOICE!

Aquaman is a late addition to a rather flimsy lineup of seven that formerly included:

-Superman
-Batman
-Wonder Woman
-Martian Manhunter
-Green Lantern (John Stewart)
-Flash
-and a wild card female character of Zatanna (better than Hawkgirl RIIIIGHT)

WB/D.C./Snowblind/JLH got innundated with requests from a bevy of JLA fans (me included) requesting more playable characters compared to the upcoming Marvel Ulitmate Alliance's over 20 playables with hundreds of cameos. So I feel D.C. felt the pressure of rival competition and delivered more playable heroes.

In addition to our REAL Orin/Arthur Curry Aquaman D.C. has confirmed Green Arrow and somewhat confirmed is Captain Marvel/SHAZAM . As to others like Hawkman , Atom , or Black Canary the jurys still out.

Anyway here's the article I had scanned and streamlined for your enjoyment. Aquaman is the gist of the piece and it talks about his recent resurgence and how he's MUCH more than a character that can talk to fish and breath underwater.

ENJOY! This almost makes up for that lousy and unproductive Aqua-embargo D.C. had lowered for the last two years on JLU using his likeness in animation and I want COMMENTS back please!?!?

Gravatar Howdy guys, I just picked up Alex Ross' 'Justice,' and it has Aquaman playing a fairly large role. It is great to see Ross drawning him again, I don't think anybody gets the King of the Seas like him. I'd love to see a review, or at least a note about this book on the site.

wayne kelley contributed...

Gravatar For all the gamers out there...Justice League Heroes is out, and while you do not get to start out as the King of the Seven Seas, in my opinion getting to play the character is worth the wait. Of course, they throw in powers like a water blast and a whirlpool that sucks in the enemies. But, aside from that Aquaman plays very strong w/o having to do too many upgrades. The game is very good, much like X-Men Legends. I am still very early in it, but if you have been thinking about picking it up, I do not think you'll be disappointed.

Gravatar Hey Laura-- several months ago (or possibly longer) you had on the site a link to a photographer who dressed her subjects (Hispanic immigrants?) in super hero costumes. I'm scanning the archive and having no luck finding it. Do you still have that link and could you post it here or send it to me? Thanks!
