Good catch, Deborah. I had exactly the same reaction as yours when I saw this quotation over at Political Animal. Steve Benen missed it but Kevin Drum never would have.
I love how Goode trumpets his support for "Judeo-Christian" values. The fundies seem to have glommed on to the Jews as their new best friends of the moment, but I doubt he would hesitate to throw them under the bus if he needed a different religious bogeyman. Anyway, he probably just wants to get them all back to Israel in order to bring on Armageddon, after which any who remain unconverted will die a fiery death. With friends like these...
Interestingly enough, the government has already been infiltrated by a religious group. Of course, Virgil's not bothered by it since it's not a problem if the US gets molded into the image of his religion.

These Christians have no respect for Jewish values, nor indeed any real knowledge of what those values are. They use the phrase "Judeo-Christian" as a gloss so that they do not appear to be favoring establishment. As long as they include Jews, they are not trying to establish Christianity as a State religion. Yea right sure.
Fact is, there's very, very little that qualifies as "Judeo-Christian" besides monotheism and the Pentatauch. Everything else is different. And of course, the interpretation of the nature of both monotheism and the Pentatauch is different. It's a bullshit phrase.
