Isabelita, I've always thought that too. Finally looked it up--apparently it's from Paradise Lost.

Dilbert dogbert, there was tons of winecup clarkia up there--I'll get around to posting pics here eventually. But the most amazing clarkia display I've seen--whole hillsides of pink in some places--was in the foothills around Oakhurst on June 21. Yes, that's right: Farewell to Spring on the first day of summer.
