I may have mentioned this before, but, y'know, there are uncounted opportunities in childhood to chat with imaginary friends or root without ceasing for a favored team, or to rearrange baseball cards or scale-model trucks or talking dolls in a new order daily. If one misses those chances one may, as an adolescent, follow the touring schedule of a favorite musical ensemble or collect and trade science fiction figurines. But then that's it; as an adult one is at minimum required to put these things in the closet, or devote oneself to managing a specialty shop as a form of disguise. At a minimum. And that ought to go double when one aspires to punditry.
