Shiltone,
I'm afraid we need a better wurlitzer, and one without any kind of irony or feedback loop. In other words, we need our own one trick ponies like Bill Donahue for the angry catholic fringe who will simply take it as his job (its usually a guy, but not necessarily) to stake out the hard anti republican position and blast fax it. There's no other way. There's no there there in terms of public opinion, its all manufactured. And if we don't want to be taken down by it, we have to reverse engineer our own phony shock and horror.

I've tried to be that guy, at different times, in my (our) own little corner of the world, only to be drowned out by drama queens, navel gazers, and the like, every last one of them claiming to be on our side.
Blue Mass Group has become a joke, for example; after watching two out of the three editors fall all over themselves tut-tutting over the NYT article about McCain's lobbyist bimbo, I haven't had much appetite for hanging out there.

I also noticed the no IF in his statements. He may have been unfairly targeted, but after some of his shenanigans, it may be justified.
He hasn't uttered a single word of innocence, is that to his credit or discredit?

I think its to his credit not to waffle and weasel. On the other hand, if he's caught dead to rights, what is there to waffle about?

My first thought after hearing about Spitzer's dumbassery was, Damn it, why couldn't it have been another GOPer?!
Not all politicians are alike, of course, but the Dems have to be twice as good to prove that.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. No amount of nookie is worth losing your family and work.

Crap, and I cam back here to avoid the Spitzer story.
We are all surfing an internet that also happens to be the engine that drives a multi-billion dollar porn industry, so why are we focused on paid sex between individuals?
A commenter at TRex made the point better than I, but if we can pay people while filming them having sex, why can't two people make an arrangement in private for the same, or similar acts?
I'm waiting for the public figure -- male or female -- who has the guts to stand up and say "yeah, I had sex with him/her, and you know what? It was fantastic, and yes, my wife/husband knew about it, any other questions?"
To be honest, even the hypocrisy angle is losing its power at this point.
Just change the damned laws already.

Well, thank Golom that Dr. Laura is on the case to explain to us just why Mr. Spitzer went to play in someone else's sandbox.

Damn Spicoli... you must not be married. Just how badly do you want to pervert the intsitution? Cheaters suck, period. I don't care if it was with an intern, a $1000 an hour whore, or with his sister, it's gross. Mr. Clean is a complete and total scumbag, and I'm glad his professional life is over. What a loser!
