Which would make Obama acceptable in their eyes, an orthodox liberal record, or an unorthodox liberal record?

Somehow Republicans win whether they lie or tell the truth (the latter, admittedly, is purely hypothetical, of course, but it could happen), and the Democrats lose whether they make stuff up or tell the truth. Somehow, we'll have to figure out how to take a page out of their playbook, or that baby-raping Nazi collaborator polygamist John McCain will prevail.

The crap about Obama 'distorting' McCain's 100 years comments really pisses me off.

Hendrik Hertzberg delivered the best summary of McCain's policy: "McCain wants to stay in Iraq until no more Americans are getting killed, no matter how long it takes and how many Americans get killed achieving that goal—that is, the goal of not getting any more Americans killed. And once that goal is achieved, we'll stay."
