Perhaps they need to see video of some broadway plays, some adapted from books .. "Joseph and His Technicolor Dream Coat", or "Aida", or "Little Orphan Annie" or .....

Woods Walk,

What on earth does Bernie's site/posts have to do with this post?

Please explain... this time coherently... using complete sentences...

Planck's Constant, sole publisher of Muslim jokes on the planet.

Just hadda come back and peek at what others had said. Green Eggs and Jihad thats too funny.

Green Eggs and Jihad!

Dr. Seuss, of course! How about "The Sneetches" with special discussion on how NOBODY DIES?

Then again "The Sneetches" is like, a left-wing favorite so, maybe not. Unless it led to some nice cognitive dissonance...

RadioActive; Diane; Patty,

Good stuff!

As always I am last to weigh in. lol

I think we need to take them back to the basics how about One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish? Or Horton Has a Who?By Dr. Seuse.

I think a fairy tale is quite appropriate here- I'm going with "The Three Little Pigs".

"Twenty-six dialogues with a Persian" by Manuel II Palaeologus. Maybe Pope Benedict is done with his copy.

Debbie,

I don't think viewers/commentors understood that this post was filed under humor/sarcassim.

What I anticipated was comments recommending books that would be so obviously inappropriate that only the dryest of wits would not find the humor obvious.

Perhaps I need an editor...

I got the trackack. TypePad seems to be working (knock wood), at least today. Thanks so much.

That list of books is something else. The ones on 'women' are very interesting, and the Salmon Rushdi book is a reas shocker. What would their mullas say? Would they issue a fatwa on them for reading it? heh

Whoops - my mistake. Thanks . . .

Chris,

I always include a link (it appears purplish on my screen). In this post it's the name: Harry Potter.

Alleged? Now, that's funny.

Here's the link for your convenience.

And remember, I'm not a reporter. This is my opinion.

Sir - I can't find any source article on abcnews.com for this item. Reports elsewere (covering their reading preferences) label them as "terror suspects"... Now maybe I'm straining at gnats but wouldn't "suspected" or "alleged" be appropriate here, regardless of how the original article opened? Do you have the actual link? Thanks...

Great post Butch!..will link to this one! ;)

The only downside is that you need a sense of humor to appreciate the thing

Oh, that's right...darn...

I'm not very optimistic about enlightening those thugs. Best hope is to throw some French existentialist writings at them to make weak and apathetic.

No question: The Fifth Elephant, by Terry Pratchett. Though it suffers from not having a cat in the story, it is an excellent exposition on the value of liberty and the people who champion its cause. The only downside is that you need a sense of humor to appreciate the thing, and terrorists seem to be seriously lacking in that department.
