Here's a somewhat positive, yet somber, update of the activities surrounding my recently released book: "Jihad and American Medicine":

On the positive side, I will be presenting my book's themes as a faculty member/speaker to the March 28th, 2008 conference on the Legal and Medical Issues of Emergency Preparedness (California Western School of Law; Harbor Island Hilton, San Diego). I will also be speaking to the local rotary club on this same subject in April 2008. In addition, I will be the keynote speaker July 15, 2008 in Las Vegas at the 2008 Western Conference on Biopreparedness.

On the somber side, I have been the victim of terrorist threats to kill me--as documented via

San Diego police report: case # 08-010582 (422 p.c. "Terrorist Threat")
This incident was also reported to FBI special agent Gretchen E. Evaul, and, in addition to phone calls and meetings to law enforcement officials, an online report was submitted to the San Diego Chief of police and the San Diego office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
The case involves many elements, but one of them was the hate crime of calling me a "real, dirty Jew"...the religious slur was made by an educated, moderate, non-religious Muslim man who is living and practicing his trade of engineering here in the United States...
