For some reason, the line from Wizard of Oz ("Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!") comes to mind when Obama backtracks on his gaffes and pretends they never happen. It's like the little kid who thinks, "If I can't see them, they can't see me" and closes his eyes tight.

He's stuck in his own land of denial. More and more people are apparently getting tired of his unchanging (pun intended) act. It's a one trick pony on its last legs.
